You talk about 'taking power all day long' and want 'loudest and lowest'. First loudest and what power a sub can take are not related. Loudest and lowest don't come together. Generically speaking the more your box peaks the higher the low end roll off.

Yes. Definitely nice drivers, but it really depends on your needs and goals to see if they would work best for you. Personally I have no need for them, but I don't run anything passive so I have the flexibility to choose drivers specific for my mounting locations and install.

Can I assume that the 88 is our 880? I couldn't find crossover specs for your headunit. Are your "tweets" on axis or off and if they are off how far off axis?

Sort of like cigarettes. I don't know what the big deal is. Everyone says quitting is hard, I just don't get it. I've done it at least a hundred times. Finally got it to stick though. Real key is choosing to not be the guy who uses whatever it is all the time. Quitting for health or what not doesn't work, you have to decide to not be a user. Good luck!

Challenges like the one you are in right now make everything easier later, just keep that in mind when making your decisions. Everything will get better, as Ryan said your heart is in the right place and in the long run that will win.

If your headunit can supply enough voltage to your amplifier so that it can do power and not swamp or under utilize the input stage that is all you need. A good 2V headunit is WAY more than enough voltage for all real amplifiers so boosting it in between the headunit and amplifier will buy you nothing positive.
