Car subwoofer in the house
That would be a rack amp. Piece of junk, but the idea is at least on the right style of amp.

Welcome to the IHoP
I use a power buffer to restore only. The M needed it badly when I bought it, but has never seen it since. Maintenance is the key to not needing reconstructive surgery regularly.

Car subwoofer in the house
As loud as it could - No All that you need - It depends A power supply and car amp will NOT make it louder, but you could surely buy a larger plate amp, rack amp, or pro audio amplifier. DO NOT use a car amp in your house. The Power Supply that you need will cost you more than the amp.... As for the all that you need, that depends on what you tune your box to and what source you use. You could also need a SSF or HP of some sort depending on your goals.

AQ 2200 Clipping Led
That tutorial REQUIRES that you have some background. You MUST know that your amp will do the power that you set it at with the voltage you are supplying it. Regularly that isn't the case which could mean you are clipping all the time. I'd expect you to clip before the clip light comes on, well before, but am not sure of the algorithm being used by AQ. You should NEVER use the bass boost. If you ever do, you have to have it on to the highest setting when you set your gains via the method above. On top of that you need to use either the centered frequency of your boost to set your gain or at least test it with multiple frequencies since the boost isn't linear. From your posts I am sure you are overdriving the potential of what you have. You need to turn your gain down. I'll also add that I can tell you should have bought the BL instead of the Q. No way, no how are you a standard Q buyer. Don't mean to harp on this, but it drives me nuts that all sorts of people come on the forum and buy something with a Q in it implying "SQ" when they have ZERO idea what that means. If you truly wanted a semblance of SQ then you would have your gain turned WAY down from where it is and would be asking all sorts of questions about how to make your front stage have midbass and never anything about bass. Really the 2200 isn't the amp for you either. You would be better off with something more matched to the sub....or changing your subs to match your amp.

Which route should I take?
If it is custom you can't "find them" and yes the coils will change them. There has to be a reason why he recommended a certain size enclosure and without T/S I wouldn't venture outside his recommendations. Another reason why "custom" drivers RARELY make any sense. If you don't have a particular application where you need something changed and fully understand what you are doing sticking with a stock unit is a heck of a lot more logical.

AQ 2200 Clipping Led
Clipping lights are basically useless; however, I would requestion exactly how you set the gains and triple check.

Nice work, love the IB.

Welcome to the IHoP
A large gamut of 3M products. Same thing I use on all my cars. I know you did ask Sean originally but I wanted to second this since he did say 3m products. A good friend of mine who has won at least one state award, probably more, for painting cars uses 3m products and nothing else. He's the biggest tight wad, farm boy, but ALWAYS uses 3m. I think Aaron & Ryan should pipe in to. They might be more anal than me in how they detail. Meguiars is what I'd buy if 3M weren't around.

You won't have to change your handle after all! Still waiting on the lease arrangement though, no can promise shit until that happens. All I can do now is HOPE.

Can I Go Active With This Setup?
Whichever one you get a better deal on used. New I wouldn't pay for either.

Help with speaker selection for a 3-way setup.
I haven't heard the FR125, but it looks very suitable for an IB or sealed setup. My guess is that it would work well, in particular if you could get it on axis. A tweet to fill the real high end would probably help with it though. You could ask Neil/DevilDriver as I know he owns a pair, not sure if he'll check his PM's but its worth a shot.

15" xcon in a temporary infinite baffle setup.
And for the others that had their personal attacks removed, please stop. There is no place for that either

15" xcon in a temporary infinite baffle setup.
No you can't. Just because a speaker plays to a frequency does not mean you can hear it. You also cannot hear 28kHz. LOL. In fact, I'd bet $1M you can't hear either and I can guarantee I'll win. I am sick of your attitude and responses. This thread is closed. You have a week to read the T&C's before you will be able to post again. During this week, please leave the Xcon in the box as I really don't want to hear what excuse you have when you blow it by doing something stupid. *note, when you come back you will not be given as much leeway as you have already had. Time for you to grow up, stop with the excuses and follow instructions.

Car subwoofer in the house
Terrible idea unless burning up your amplifier sounds like fun. Really, buy a HOME amplifier for home. 110v amps are way more suited to run on 110v than a 12v DC amp...imagine that.

Can I Go Active With This Setup?
You need 4 channels of amplifier to run active. One for each driver (ie tweeter, tweeter, mid, mid) The RA's don't have anything that will help, the h/u is dubious as it will only work as the bottom of the bandpass, and the KS could but in reality I would shy away from an amplifier active solution as they will regularly not sound as good as the passives that come with a set. On top of that IMO it is a waste of money to buy a comp set and then split it up to run active, much better to save a lot of dough and buy raw drivers.

15" xcon in a temporary infinite baffle setup.
Stop being full of shit. There is no way, no how, not physically possible for ANY human to hear 10Hz. Can't believe anything you state at all about the setup. :( Really basic understanding of how the ear works will have you going

Black is a bitch monkey to keep it looking clean, whereas navy blue usually isn't (sister's Corolla certainly isn't, can go nearly a month in an Arizona-ish climate and still look relatively clean) if that is not an issue to you, flip a coin You don't know me very well, clean shouldn't be an issue. I've owned 5 other black cars btw. There is NO better color for a vehicle. I am a black on black guy, but would take a saddle leather interior. I love the King Ranch interior

Which route should I take?
If it is custom the builder better have provided T/S otherwise I'd sell whatever it is and buy something "not custom"

Oh really. And you used your ears to tell you this?

My new enclosure, what takes so long?
Obviously you didn't do what I asked. All of your threads do not fit the requirements, not even close. The part that is too bad though is that this is exactly how you end up getting non-help on a forum. Everyone gets sick of reading crap threads and then when you finally have a well put question no one reads the thread as they are already ignoring what you type. You are managing to do this very quickly.

12's in the quarter in a very nimble street car is ALWAYS enjoyable The roar of the V10 doesn't suck either.
