JL Audio Slash v2 300/2v2 vs RF 600-2
You can read the posting guidelines and you could say a lot. Either way, to get the most out of the speakers you need to spend time thinking about the install and not the amp. It is by far the least important part of making them sound good. Perhaps a different set of comps would go further as well, but without knowing your goals we can't help there either.

Welcome to the IHoP
Did you buy their album? I loved that CD dearly for about 3 months. It kind of wore away at me after that. On a boat got too much play, so I would get all crabby about it. No, pff who buys music nowadays?! I do. I refuse to give a fuck about any artist who can only record songs worthwhile, if you can't make an album I am not interested.

carbon fiber will it hold up
Civic needs a spoiler about as much as you need a fur coat when it is 80 outside. Gaudy and tacky for no reason. Just leave it off. If you must rice your ride then either turn down the bass or dampen the vibrations so it won't do it again.

three way or two way active front stage
2 way first time out and EXPECT to change shortly. Spending money on the HAT options isn't worthwhile, in particular since if you are truly gung ho about a 3 way you will be changing things up after you figure it all out (ie 6mo after you do the first install). Spend more time planning your install, focusing on deadening, aiming, and tuning and less time on drivers. In the end you will be rewarded. As for 2 way recommendations, I would still be a proponent of picking "easy" drivers instead of ones with anomalies. ie paper cones and not magnesium or other ones with nasty breakup modes. Get your ears used to what changes with what settings and then decide. I'd also recommend used drivers first and the expectation that you will change them up after listening to them for a while. If not, I guarantee you will toss money away as a change will be in order no matter what. Take your $700 budget and spend $150-200 on used stuff, tell us what you like and don't like about it and THEN go shopping for your $700 (-50 for depreciation) and really get your monies worth. Just my .02

JL Audio Slash v2 300/2v2 vs RF 600-2
I'd choose neither at retail, wouldn't base my choice on any of the specs listed other than headroom, wouldn't expect an audible difference between the two, but am unable to offer alternatives without understanding what you are trying to accomplish.

Real SQ tracks, do they exist anymore?? Non mp3 files.
Studio's can make a HUGE difference. Tons of crappy recordings in particular for "popular" music.

I also wouldn't let a mechanic drive it. Fuck that.

First HT "project"
What if I built a Tline? They have a nice flat response right? Not the first time you build one. Not even close. You and chop are being influenced by someone who shouldn't be influencing you. Look what happened to LB's sub in that box, just not a good idea when you don't understand exactly what is happening. Note, I am not knocking Tlines and actually have some in my living room but don't want you to build something that isn't successful.

$4 for the filter and ~$30 for synthetic oil you do it yourself I won't let ANY mechanic touch that car. I don't want it fucked up. Oil change monkeys most definitely not.

I can't believe the Jets won, I left as the game was boring and Indy is going to stomp either of those teams. Manning - Favre in the Superbowl.

Building Passive Crossovers
You are going to have way more money in your crossovers than your tweeters. 2 things you need to do. 1) run active *and I realize you have some reason you think you can't, get over it* 2) Get a driver that is meant to be loud, not a hifi driver

About to upgrade front stage
Depends on how well you install it, deaden it, isolate it, and of course kill the backwave. If you want midbass that is what you have to do.

Windshield Reflections with front stage
Narrowing down the frequencies would definitely help. Obviously a closer to on axis blob would help, but hopefully we can clean it up some without having to get that extreme.
