I watched that on tv way back in 1980 .... I was ...... Damn I'm old! My MOTHER was 8 years old then hahaha Holy fuck X2 I was 6. I was also 6
  3. Fi recommend 12-16 sq.in per cu.ft. which would be 48-64 sq.ft You have to keep the total area in mind Let's do the math backwards: 64 / Pi = 20.37 SQRT (20.37) = 4.5" radius or 9" diameter, considering there is no 9" you could do a flared 8" without a problem and just have a single port. If you have to use wimpy 4" ers then we need to figure out their area. 2*2*Pi = 12.56cuft * 4 = 50.26 (*5 = 62.8). So you'd need 4 to 5 of them. Now you see why most people slot port their box. I have no link, but you could look in any Geometry book. *make sure you use all 4 ports when you calculate your length if you go that route.

Do you guys use the lump coal with the wood? Natural lump is always the base, smoking wood I add for flavor depending on what I am cooking/smoking. Any lump coal better than the other? Definitely. Can make a huge difference. Not sure what you have locally, but here is a site that reviews them The Lump Charcoal Database -- Naked Whiz Charcoal Ceramic Cooking

Is it just me or has the posting on the site in general slowed down a bunch? Perhaps I am just here more, but there used to be more pages of new posts to read through.
  6. With $600 dollars for components, I'd spend it all on 1 pair for the front and make sure you install them well.

Effff, I have some cheese waiting for macaroni but I forgot to buy macaroni yesterday Aww that's a bummer! I shredded some Tilamook cheese GOOD stuff! Cheese in Europe >>> cheese in US. Regrettably. Some good ones are available here, but not in your normal grocery store.

Effff, I have some cheese waiting for macaroni but I forgot to buy macaroni yesterday 500-525g of flour and 4 Extra large eggs or 6 eggs. Mix until it is doughy (i just do it on the counter with my hands), knead for 5-6min, rest for 20min, and then flatten as much as possible. A pasta roller helps or an extruder if you want macaroni style noodles, but imo a noodle of any type will work.

If you aren't a griller don't. Only because I don't want to be the one to make you spend $700. On the other hand if you ever thought you'd aspire to be one, then by all means I still use my gas when I am lazy or for some things, but when I really want to enjoy my food NOTHING cooks better than a ceramic cooker. I am a huge, I cooked it over fire guy though but nonetheless the control is sweet.
  14. You cant compare the two speakers at all, the Mach 5 Audio is a midbass speaker and thats it. The O2 Audio speaker is a midrange speaker and that is it, they are made for two different goals in mind. Oxygen Audio USA Power Neodymium Mid-Ranges: OM-605ND-4, OM-605ND PRO, OM-6906ND, OM-509ND, OM-609ND-4, OM-809ND-4 I have the first one on the picture at top. They do make a midbass speaker though, it doesnt get as low as the Mach 5 Audio. Ok I see well that makes sense I guess. Is this a dumb question what do people usually use to have a 2-way active system? midrange + tweeter or midbass + tweeter. Hopefully this is a good question for the thread. Those midranges o2s look so sexy. I want! Midbass's typically imply that they can't play into the midrange. High frequency to a midbass is usually 500Hz. Tweeters on the other hand rarely are effective much below 1500Hz. Therefore with only two drivers you normally look for a woofer that can play both the midrange frequencies and the midbass frequencies. *yes of course there are tons of exceptions that go beyond the limits I used for frequency and by no means are those numbers anywhere near stone
  15. my front stage lets you hear everything including the space around the recording..... the JBL 660gti's are just amazing..you can even hear the fingerprint rub on the guitar strings You should listen to a Seas Excel once if you think the JBL's are transparent. You'd be floored. And yes, that is what my Eclipse was connected to. No hiss.
  16. Or better yet, just build a set with real balls.

  18. That isn't surround sound, but very confused stereo.

I like the improved crossover choices although they could have done it across the board and included the tweeters as well. I also think it looks sexy. Pioneer USA - CD Players
