Engine Noise.
Stock headunit grounds are regularly terrible. You also need to check to make sure that hinge is actually has minimal resistance to the neg batt connection.

You have a Ford, I have a Chevy. I expect that mine will break. Can't believe I ever bought the damn thing. Of course if the 97-04 F150's weren't so damn fugly I wouldn't have bought the Silvershitbox

x432789790 I really liked the older subaru WRX (not STi I in the US yet I think) I drove with blizzaks on it though. I felt like I could go up 50 degree hills made of ice with water running down it. You fit in the WRX? I personally felt like I was in a ultra cheap car from the 70's that had been updated as cheap as possible when I drove one. Hated it. Not the way it drove per se, just the car. I imagine it did well in the snow. My old Brat was fun too, but not enough Powa! It's weird. Remember the REALLY huge winged one? The stupid looking one. My friend and I (power lifter and as wide as myself but shorter) could fit just fine. He purchased for a winter car after he crashed his 6 cyl turbo s4. I think it had more room than the audi. His summer car was a turbo 997 and had more room than either when he would pick me up. Funny, I was not comfortable in a WRX, but the S4 I am super comfortable in. Of course the Germans add more lift to the front of the seats and let them go back further usually.

Not thick. 6'7 215 36" waist, 36" inseam, 17.5"neck, 37.5" sleeve Yeah, I know I should have continued to swim competitively

Just as a reminder, in the future you don't need such full coverage. If it is noise you are after MLV is your friend, not deadener.

Engine Noise.
<--nobody here hardly has sigs turned on, at least on the posts a lot team Engine whine is 90% of the time ground related, the next big culprit is RCA's. It is never caused by what side you run them on though. Either test each piece independently and let us know which piece has the problem or just start with pulling/making fresh grounds (make sure to brush down to bare metal) for every location. I'd start with the headunit. And while you are at it, double check all your connections and make sure they are tight.

Where will you be mounting your tweeters? Will a large format tweeter work? (ie 3-4" diameter)

Oh and snow tires >> 4wd/awd anyday of the week. Of course car dependent a bit. By far the BEST handling car in the snow I have ever driven was a non-Turbo 944 with snows on it. Unbelievable how well that car handled, but of course a near perfect 4 corner weight balance and not much weight with all mechanical controls help a shitload in that regard. Computer gadgets do nothing for me in the shit. Take off the anti-locks, the stability control, traction control, and any other electronic grandmother and let me feel what the car is doing.

Subwoofers in Doors
Seriously? You are the one refuting science, why should we go into Aural 101for you? Let's make this more productive and why don't you tell us how humans can perceive where an omnidirectional source is that is playing only below 40Hz. Then we can continue.

I thought about an LS as well, a bit too vanilla for my tastes but had SVT played with one I might have had one instead of the M. I've also heard nothing but good things about them, but haven't known anyone with over 120k miles on one yet.

So you like the meaty girls, eh? I do. Skinny doesn't do much for me. I don't like fat, but I love a nice round juicy ass and some big muscular thighs. Volleyball players come to mind. I agree. Something a bit more plush. case in point. To me megan fox is one of the only atractive extremely thin women on the planet. She still looks female unlike many of the non developed skinny chicks.. I like the dark hair and dark look. I like mine REALLY thin, but with boobs. The boobs can be small if they match the rest of the package.

How to recognize a good SQ amplifier?
One thing perhaps hasn't been pointed out strongly enough. You ask about SQ, but then ask about crossovers on amps. IMO if you are truly going that route, NO amplifiers are flexible enough to use their crossovers and instead you should be using a processor. I will also say that pre-choosing your crossover points, slopes, and phase before connecting your drivers is silly. Listening to what sounds best is the right method and that takes hours of comparisons. I use different slopes in every installation and with them come different crossover points.

why is "SQL" looked down upon, so much?
Point of the thread is why we don't like it when people use terms they don't understand. SQLMonte is just proving he doesn't at all understand the terms either. Simple really. SQ is not subjective as accurate reproduction is finite, judging an SQ competition however is.

Mine is relatively vanilla as well. 600cc engine, 120hp, 435lbs. Does probably 105mph total, traction limited 0-60's somewhere in the 4's. Trails being a whopping 10' wide with a ski stance of 4' you get to carve and carve and carve away. When that gets not so peaceful off to the ditches where you get a jump every 1/8th mile or so. Then you can add the boondocking in fresh deep snow and bars/gas stations connecting all the trails and it is a hoot. Pretty much nothing I'd rather be doing.

Welcome to the IHoP
that's awesome. Do you just ride to ride? Like a guy on a Harley , or do you end up doing mildly insane things like a guy on a sport bike? Is it for the peacefullness or the rush? Both. You can't sport bike 120mi full throttle. Some of that in between a bunch of peacefulness. IMO snowmobile >>> jetski/motorcycle/boat/atv. Power to weight is insane, turning capability flat out nuts, and if you want to jump go for it. On top of that generically speaking they are really safe as you are close to the ground as well.

Why midbasses and components? Why partly active and part passive?

Welcome to the IHoP
Put on another 120mi on the sled yesterday. Was a little cold. Loaded the sled back on the trailer, hopped in the truck and the temperature gauge read -15F. Add 80mph to that and I can easily understand why I was a little cold, lol.

Wifey dragged me to see their show in Baltimore a few years ago. Not good, just a cluster-rock-fudge-faux-opera. The few lead musicians think they are in some arena level hair band circa 1985. LOL me and the w go every year save this last one. Rarely do I criticize a musical group, but there are a few occasions where I wanted my money back mid way through the show, and this was one of them. They put on a "special" show for you near DC.

Are they playing music or Christmas songs? Enjoy, fun to see.
