  1. For that price a Technics direct drive should be able to be found used and as long as it has a good cartridge is more than acceptable. Easy to sell when you are done as it is what DJ's like to use.

Fucking Sproles. I have LT started, while I can't complain about the 2TD's having Sproles steal 3 more sucks.

Crazy, drove to the East side of the twin cities today. Nearly 2' of fresh snow in my yard and only around 8" in Woodbury. The roads went from nearly non-passable to no worries whatsoever.

Now that's a top, shirt top, thread top, boob top.
  6. A pre-breakfast cappuccino, obviously, followed by: A pancetta, spinach, & scallop benedict (homemade Hollandaise, poached egg on a English Muffin.) I integrated Dylan's baked potato idea in my hasbrowns and made fresh potato pancakes with some loaded toppings integrated. Matt's Christmas Chile idea I turned into Kiwi slices topped with Pomegranate seeds. Super festive and pretty looking I made fresh Mimosa's with some Roederer and Clementines that I processed through the Vitamix for OJ. Blueberry, blackberry, mango, & banana smoothies. And for desert a Breve with some Panettone bread. Figured it rounded out the holiday meal. Thanks for the ideas guys!
  7. You need to do some remedial studying on what vertical, horizontal, and directional cues come from what frequencies. I'll give you a hint, Biggs didn't place his subwoofers up front for staging reasons in the subwoofer frequencies.
  8. I did. Read the last part of the sentence after the word but. Don't read everything like people are attacking you, instead read with an open mind and you will see your answer. Am not seeing it as an attack, your input on the topic open my eyes to areas that i do need to check into. Its just that when you ask an important question that your needing an immediate answer to and you have someone saying if you have to ask..... It just gets under my skin. If you have an opinion on the asked question just say yes it is or no its not a good idea because...... If this is done, then the thread would go a whole lot smoother. I answered your question in the same statement. The "if you have to ask" was a warning that if you went down that path armed with what knowledge you have it will fail. I hope that was an attempt at humor. Not funny and as ridiculous as your previous statement.

I have. Though I did not do it myself. Let's see if I can find a receipt here. I did them at different times. For one side it was 115.30 parts and 75 labor. $75 means it can't be too bad. Probably an hour. Good luck Ryan. I'm replacing, uppers, lowers, all steering components and may have to do the hubs as well, so I've got more than an hours worth of work. Add to that, the lack of a heated garage, and the fun goes on. You just reminded me my nipco is broken. SHould have fixed it this summer

  12. Agreed, however, any manufacturer worth a shit in car audio designs for IB since 99.9999% of the installs are done that way. Wrong. Even outside of most components that statement is wrong. I thought you actually knew what the purpose of the enclosure was.

An old school mod, not sure how that happened though. If you look at all his posts, there are rated with a plus one so it looks like he went through ranking himself or somebody else did (but I dont see why they would do that in one day). Those rankings add and delete from your supportive score when someone clicks on a + or -. Looks like a glitch or something as it is back where it was. Or he minused himself back, lol
  14. I have used the term pro before, but honestly what it recommended for the bandpass sounded horrible. The speaker popped whenever the bass hit it was just a big mess up. You should never follow the "recommended" enclosure from any program. I actually wish they didn't give you one as the way they input the environment sucks on all of them. And we all know that install is 90% of the game anyways which means understanding your environment. If you just use it to model the excursion, power handling, and response though they work really well. *never used term pro can't say good or bad, but WinISD has plenty of power. Doing the math by hand isn't that hard either.

  16. Stop being argumentative. Your equipment is NOT meant to be in an enclosure and it would not be logical to use it that way. It has nothing to do with what I equipment I know, but instead a fundamental understanding of how drivers work and what they will excel in and what they won't. Again exactly why I said you really shouldn't try to put those components in a sealed enclosure. Your last comment about knowing about a product is absurd, perhaps you've heard of T/S parameters? They will tell the WHOLE story on whether or not something will work sealed, ported or what alignment is appropriate. Audio 101. Experience can help you fine tune, but it is SUPER easy to understand approximately what things will be like without having even tried them.

  19. Yes, free and it destroys the $100 ones.
  20. But isnt that what the forum is for, to get insight and opinions on how things are done. I get the theory here and other places, then put it into practice. If I dont have enough understanding of something and wanting to learn, then how am I going to get the know how when i get "if you need to ask the quesyion you probably dont have a deep enough understanding of what to do to pull it off effectively" from the place where the support comes from. Like we say home, experience is the grand father of learning. If you dont try, then how are you to gain understanding and experience. Then sell those JL's and buy something we can help you build an effective enclosure for. Let me make my comment more clear. At this point your understanding of how speakers and audio work will not develop fast enough for you to successfully ask the right questions here, get the answers you need and pull an enclosure for those JL's off successfully. If you are just into doing it to see what will happen unless you take a scientific path with it you won't learn anything from that experience either. So yes, if you need to ask if it is okay I don't think you should do it. If you really want to do an enclosure you should start with a driver that is optimized for it, but that thread would have a completely different feel to this one.
  21. WinISD will do both 4th and 6th order, but does require that you have some background in understanding the parameters. Either way all programs sort of do, IMO you should never use their recommendation but instead tailor your design to your install and use the software to predict what will happen.

Sweet. What roaster do you have? I use a Hamilton Beach digital coffee maker. Never really used to drink this coffee, but have to admit this roasted coffee tastes much better than insta coffee (cappuccino mix) i used to make So you didn't mean you need to roast some coffee, but brew it. Okay. Roasting starts with green beans and turns them brown. Freshly roasted coffee is amazing....well actually best 3 days after but then goes downhill quickly. It is SUPER easy to notice a difference between 3 day roasted and 7 day roasted in my espresso machine. 2x the crema. I LOVE freshly roasted, freshly ground, extracted coffee.
  24. Just as a point of clarification, mass isn't that important in damping. Of course it is important as an acoustic barrier, but CLD mat is generically speaking a poor way of adding mass. MLV would be better for that. Nothing wrong with the 2ndskin products for their purpose they are fine but mass won't tell the story for damping. Obviously mass could hint at a thicker butyl layer or aluminum layer which will improve performance. It is really amazing what a few squares of CLD and a full layer of MLV will do to a car. If you think it is quiet now, you'd LOVE it.
