Hmm, doesn't seem like it on the Squeezebox, but I haven't listened to just web Pandora in a while. And no I don't pay shit monthly.
  2. Agreed...as long as it doesn't clip. Easy to test though And that volume level is definitely not an eq.

    that is definitely baller
  4. Obviously if you adjust your gains with it on, no big deal...but again the real question is WHY would you want to use it. Are you looking to have a bloated frequency response around the frequency that your bass boost works at? All it does is ruin your frequency response. The caveat of course is if you happen to have designed a crappy box that happens to need boost where the amplifier will give it, well then it may help with your inadequate install but don't come crying when you overexcurte your driver and wreck it because it is trying to do what it can't. Of course those with ears will never blow a driver anyway since it is rather easy to hear strain in a driver. I am always amazed at how so many people have issues with this, but then again I am amazed at how shitty most peoples aftermarket stereos sound as well.
  5. The real question is why would you want to use it? If there is a reason, perhaps, but it MUST be accounted for in all other settings and that isn't trivial.

And the hop isn't for serious business. I will say though that if the new guy wants to preview his thread to make sure it follows the noob guidelines (see my sig) then by all means I would consider that ok. I hate useless threads so for that purpose I am okay with something serious in the hop. *yes the answers could be ridicule
  7. As long as you are close, no problems. Area of a circle is Pi*(radius squared) to get volume you just add the height. If it is a cone then you can approximate by calculating the area at the top and the bottom, adding together then divide by two and use that to multiply by the height. If there are other unusual areas break them down into circles, triangles or rectangles and add all the pieces together.

Feel free to ask your questions here or make a thread. Make a thread. If you want to describe what you will ask in a thread here fine, but this isn't a place for serious conversation.

TP2 comes with all the plugs to work globally. The TP2 can handle email, and sync with Outlook, has wifi and bluetooth. It has Win media Player (I think you can also get a win amp version), supports FLAC. With some tweaking it supports Pandora. Remember though, it is windows based, lol. I'm assuming like always with you though Sean, the soonest you will be looking into this is at least 6 months lol, which, in that time Windows Mobile 7 is supposed to be out and be a much better operating system Are you saying that I am slow? Yes, it will take a while as I have to buy 16 of them if I switch and convince my boss it is the right thing to do.
  12. I hope you are okay, the car looks done :( :(
  13. Sure. NEVER make a thread again in all caps.

I get two out of my three thermostats today. Can't wait to see these bitches. *damnit, just realized I am short RS-232 ports on the PC and won't be able to hook them up.

I have really simple (lol) needs in a phone. Seemless & wireless connectivity with my email, calendar and contacts in Outlook. Works globally (ie Europe, Asia, and here). GPS is a plus. Music player is a plus. Most importantly and easy keyboard to type on. Lastly the smaller the better as I am a pocket user as I hate shit bolted on to my belt.

And it isn't smart nor amazing. Typing on it is teh uber slowz. That is the one thing I like the crackberry for too, it is easy to email and type on. I am sure the Droid & TP2 are also similar. Out of curiosity since I have never looked, are they capable of synchronizing with Outlook in a non-Pop sort of way? If so, perhaps I can go that route.
  17. I guess when it becomes too large and uncomfortable next to my leg. It also has to fit between the seat and the dash. I dont know an exact volume though. How would I go about figuring how much volume the pod will have when constructed? You calculate the volume based on the external size and material thickness. I thought you did that before building your boxes and chose a box size based on your pods. Changing the volume of the box could drastically affect the response which is why you went through the exercise...
  18. I've never seen a passive 3dB crossover ever. Really doesn't make any sense at all.

And the Storm deux is completely useless IMO. Can't type for shit on that stupid screen.

Dang, stuck with a crackberry here. You guys make me want something new.
  21. All EQ should only be used for cuts, never boost. Doesn't matter the type.
  22. How big do you think you can fit?
  23. Since you thought they were passive, why 3dB? Seems funny to expect that they would spend extra on components to make a 3dB slope when a 6dB is a single component.

What local shopping I do do, I try to keep away from chains as I want to support small businesses although IMO the whole market as we know it is changing.
