Matt, check with Sean and see if this makes sense. I accidentally bought some shit at Microcenter, but it is ALL returnable. Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R $175 Intel 920 i7-920 LGA 1366 $199 OCZ DDR 6gB ( PC3 12800, [email protected]) Obsidian $129 ATI HD 4650 1gB DDR2, HDMI native $75 $578 and it ought to be rather fast, err I hope. Note on the Video card, I don't game AT ALL...but did buy a video camera and will do some video editing. An HDMI out is a near must as I will link it to every TV in the house for automation shit.

In the future perhaps a Feedback destroyer and some other shit as well. No lack of equipment, just lack of place to put them. Right now two things are on a shelf and a couple on my piano bench. Wires are everywhere as I won't trim them shorter until I have a more permanent location.

whut fer? 3 Adcom amplifiers, an HTD pre-amplifer, an Onkyo 876, my router/cable modem/wireless/squeezebox, and potentially even my PC. Currently it is in a nice case next to my shit, but having it all racked up might be nicer.

AC 150A Digital Ammeter
? So this would be useful for looking at what to determine where you are at with your different songs? DMM's have time constants in what they record and play (ie they really aren't meant for transient measurements). Your music transients will surely be quicker than this constant causing a HUGE inaccuracy in your measurement. It will gain you NOTHING. And NO when you play music on a DMM you do NOT get any idea of how much power the subs are getting. Summary: Useless indeed

hertz mlk 165's, help w/ install
I would always recommend a 4chn. More future proof, easier to sell, more power (typically) = more headroom, capability of running active if you change your mind and so on. The more noise comment is not accurate, at least nothing that you will hear and the efficiency problem isn't really applicable unless you compare it to an amp of the same size and topology and then the difference isn't really significant.

RMS wattage Calculation
Curious as to why they would ever think that some RMS calculation is possible. Hell even clamp meters aren't very accurate.

RMS wattage Calculation
I think I know someone with an O-scope. Test load, like having speakers connected? Should have a linear load or something more quantifiable than a speaker. It "can" be done with a speaker, but you need to know a lot about that speaker. Again, just look on the internet and multiply the number by 80%. Really simple.

I have turned the corner, but not at all 100% back to the office? When I am not travelling I work from home, lol. In my office today yes.

RMS wattage Calculation
Read the damn manual and expect 80%. No bs formula necessary.

steve 09 silverado crew cab
While this is clever I wouldn't call it safe. I'd SERIOUSLY think about beefing that up in a different way and not using it as is. Don't mean to burst the bubble on some otherwise nice work, but I'd hate to see you get hurt.
