There is one use for it. It is a necessary garnish for Beer Cheese Soup. Yummy.

How can you not eat popcorn? It's useless, not fulfilling at all. I don't need to just eat butter and salt for no reason either.
  3. Not always advisable to use a DMM to set gains. If you are going to make sure to set them conservatively as without doubling power you can't hear the difference anyways. For that a cheap $5 DMM from Microcenter will be more than adequate.

The only thing that a microwave is good for IMO is heating liquids, defrosting things, and making popcorn. I don't eat popcorn though so that is just for the w. Some leftovers can be heated in one, but they are few and far between...mostly ones with a high liquid content.

I watched that a while ago, or maybe it was another show where they were putting those together. There are some serious pins holding the bucket onto the lifts. You should see the forge they use to make the axles for it. Unbelievable. Fucking huge.

A braise works as well as the cooktop, depends on the size of the meat. If its in pieces I do it on the stove, whole I'd do it either back on the grill/smoker or in the oven.

To me it's just an excuse for people to buy gifts. Until Aidan came along that wasn't something we did either. Just makes no sense to me. Spend a bunch of money on someone for something they might want. Fuck that, if Kari or I want something we'll talk about it and buy it. *this year I am getting her a "gift" though. It's been more than 2 years in the house and we still don't own a microwave. As a Xmas gift it's a joke though as with the little man we actually "need" one **pretty sure I still won't use it except for defrosting meat occasionally....which is exactly why I am picking one out. Inverter defrost ftw. (or so I hope) I've never been a great gift giver because I never really want something myself. But no microwave? Do you never have leftovers? How do you reheat all those big slabs of meat you grill and smoke, in the oven? Even if I had a microwave I would NEVER heat meat up in it. I usually heat in a pan preferably in some sort of homemade sauce.

I've seen those up an close in various forms of disassembly supporting their engineering teams.
  9. I have a Fluke. Awesome, but I'd hate to have to pay for it. As for your other question, it is impossible to answer without knowing what you want to use it for.
  10. TL isn't necessary, just a repeatable mic of some sort and a way of analyzing it
  11. Don't trust the clipping indicator, it's like an idiot light for oil pressure instead of a gauge.

Anyone have any tricks for setting up A/V sync on a reciever? I have digital audio in and analog video and once processed there is some delay. I can adjust by msec, but it is hard with normal tv to feel dialed.

Yes. It is fucking common sense to actually try to make a thread that can benefit a forum. This sort of thread would follow logical terms and conditions and provide something for the whole community. *not attacking this thread, but the major influx of noobs posting shit lately
  14. Of course to put that in perspective if you turned the gains down to 3000w you wouldn't be able to hear the difference between them set at 4500w or 3000w.
  15. If installed and used correctly it will be more than enough, if not then you'll have troubles again. 2 songs isn't really very long and won't pull all that much. Gains at half isn't a valid gain setting, an oscope should become your friend as you might already be clipping those things. If you expected those amps to do more than 90% of rated then guess again, so if all else is fine you are in the neighborhood of 4500w when set properly.

and yes, I am just trying to be a dick. Something about not being able to sleep last night or right now and a near migraine have that affect on me.

I figure it another way. Not like Christmas is a religious holiday anyways so you might as well take Hay-seus out of it.
