  1. My LP is below his tuning lol.
  2. Magnet size will not let you predict magnetic field strength without knowing more information. Magnetic field strength will surely affect the response of a driver, but is far from a logical selection criteria without a thorough understanding of what it does. Even then it isn't the first specification to look at. I do think Brad said it better however... ...I doubt you need a bigger turd.

Can we assume that the 8cuft is Gross space? Or do you have a Net space calculation and if so what port area and what is the enclosure tuned to?
  4. And even an L7 will have NO problems with that You asked about 2 12" BL's or 1 15" BTL. I won't comment between the two as your install will really narrow that down, but I will guarantee that 2 BL's will be louder than 2 Q's, 2 BTL's even louder yet. (*assumes all same diameter and in IDEAL boxes) You aren't a Q buyer, don't even think about it. The BTL will have WAY more "SQ" than you need. Really not a concern as it will play music just fine. More important than your driver choice is your box design and limitations. At some point everything becomes a compromise and you need to know what those are before you pick your driver.

The only reason I said it was the biggest because that is what msnbc said when they were covering the story, honestly I dont know whats the biggest or where most are located. I was referring to Peng actually. I meant bases that are still in actual usage, dork You can have those, the one I am most interested in is Knox

    Easily renewed, cheaply too.
  7. "sound good" Sure. SUBJECTIVELY. Take time to read the noob posting guidelines and STOP making threads until you understand how. I am locking both your threads until you send me a pm with replacement prose for the first post in each of them. A new title would be stellar as well.

This shit is funny. http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/dumb-question-forum/68702-mass-loaded-vinyl-vs-butyl.html Just in case he decides to change it.
  10. You don't even know what that means. Not even close. Read the noob thread posting guidelines in my sig. And your friend is an idiot. The Q's will NOT be louder.
  11. Mainly SPL, but i do want it to be able to hit low and decently clear, im not looking for L7 status (loud but sound like crap) L7's only sound like crap in crappy boxes. You put a BL or BTL in an equally poor box and it would sound just as bad. You put them all in ideal boxes and the L7 will sound just as good. It's all in the installation and yes I realize Kicker recommends rather high tuning but realistically that is what most people want.
  12. That's terrible advice. You bought a piece of crap and say it looks better than a set that is at least mediocre. If you'll stretch your budget, it'll be worth it. http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11472702&whse=BC&Ne=4000000&eCat=BC|79|2341&N=4001374&Mo=59&No=25&ViewAll=60&Nr=P_CatalogName:BC&cat=2341&Ns=P_Price|1||P_SignDesc1&lang=en-US&Sp=C&topnav= If you don't you are in Vizio price land. http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11490974&whse=BC&Ne=4000000&eCat=BC|79|2341&N=4001374&Mo=59&No=27&ViewAll=60&Nr=P_CatalogName:BC&cat=2341&Ns=P_Price|1||P_SignDesc1&lang=en-US&Sp=C&topnav=
  13. Could you make a less specific less helpful thread? edit: locked for the same reason the other is. PM me the fix and I'll re-open it.

And got walloped by the Norskis. Only one of two cultures to manage to conquer the Russians.
  24. Those SLS's in 8" form are machines. The Mli's and SLS 6.5's are also capable midbasses...for a 6.5. Hard to replace the extra surface area though. Running a pair of them could do the trick, but you do NOT need 2 4's and 2 tweets to go with them. The only reason for the second midbass is to make-up the cone area you lose stepping down from an 8. Not sure how you plan to fit a pair of 6.5's though and can't fit the 8's. For your front stage, whenever possible using a single driver for each frequency range is the best solution.
  25. Nothing from Steve is a great deal regrettably. Not a bigger sleaze in car audio at the moment. I have two close seconds, but will refrain as they are outside the realm of this thread.
