Fack. My whole life I've hung out with people significantly older and more mature. Now I've eliminated older.

I'm old compared to you guys though too.

Somedays it isn't worth it. The travel at the moment is a bitch. If there is something that will "encourage" me to change that is exactly what it will be.

...sometimes I miss sales...... Me too. Was a hard switch going into management only. When i did bedding I was a sales manager. I felt so great and giddy. My demotion really crushed my enthusiasm. After 5 years now in neither management now a money motivated office I find more and more every day that I was cut out to be a cut above and not anything less, and the current job forces me to anchor my ability. Success in my current position is frowned upon. crap

Good money in that too, in particular if you look at it from an understanding point of view. I'd like to get more into it from a testing frame/setup/problem solving viewpoint than actual testing (which I also enjoy though so it doesn't really matter). The main person I work for is a big name in the prestress concrete industry and I might be getting into railroad tie work with him. How about the theoretical calculations of why you are testing?

Having the background to make it successful though surely helps in the desire to do it.

I have zero desire for a job such as that. Stick me in a shop and give me a slightly absurd list of stuff you want built. Rhetorical question: what sort of pay would make you change your mind Good point, but from what I know of that style of work/life it would be an inordinate amount of money, and I wouldn't want to do it. Not that I wouldn't do something like that if I had to/became available just don't think I'd do it for to long, nor be happy with it. Let's see. Get paid a lot, make all the decisions for the whole company, and do whatever else the hell you want to. Sounds like fun to me.
  8. It wasn't a question I need answered, just knew you didn't have any idea. I know enough about tubes to not need any. Not opposed, just not my cup of tea.
  9. Couldn't tell you. I need to read more. What I do know is that I personally like rear fill (where there are only midbass speakers at lower output than the fronts). It just doesn't sound good to me with only a front stage. If you are trying to make music sound good, you don't want to electronically remove all the frequencies that cause "howl". It is easier and better sounding to just leave out the rears. How awesome does the pa system sound when music is playing through it anyway? It doesn't. Do you know anything about vacuum tubes? I am going to build a tube amp. I wouldn't use a 1/3 octave bin to remove feedback, but a narrow band. Your ears won't know the difference. The only reason you like rears is you haven't heard a properly setup front stage. Nearly everytime someone is in the rear of my truck they ask what speakers I have back there. When I say none, they crap. Wasn't hard to do either as my truck has a very budget friendly install.

Jobs I would consider would be running a company that does $10-100M/yr. If I am not the one calling the shots for the whole deal, it would have to be a Sales Director position for a >$15M company with huge upside.

<-- has never applied for a job I haven't gotten. Which is exactly why I should go apply for something new, only to shoot the moon. Someone encourage me. Double dog dare you. Find one for me to apply to I wasn't the one going out asking for challenges. Don't make me do the leg work. But that was the challenge.

  19. Since we are discussing staging and you are so into SQ, how exactly do you have an acoustic stage with rears?
  20. Speakers in the rear cause feedback through the mics. You don't have this problem in a car. Thanks for playing. LOL, nice egurgitation. That has nothing to do with it. Sure feedback can occur, but that isn't a problem in a concert hall today and was never a reason in the past. In the past, sound reinforcement systems were used to amplify what instruments wouldn't carry. It wasn't to get louder per se, but to make sure everything carried well. Adding rears was never of a concern as this was a live performance and people were meant to watch the musicians on stage. Obviously PA systems have evolved and now effects and other things come into play, but the feedback you attempt to claim is a reason isn't an issue. Have you ever been to a modern sports arena where someone is singing the national anthem? Do you hear any feedback problems? That's right of course not. It is rather easy to electronically remove nearly all anomalies and is done everywhere including concert halls.

Especially when the salt is shitty and ruined and the water is less safe than the tap. Actually just goes to show how fucking stupid the American consumer is. There are a few things about Europe I REALLY wish we absorbed better, but it is all related to people and not geography. Social liberal fiscal conservitism. HELLS YES. The problem is that the fiscal conservatism has to win here because the liberals are so far the opposite.

Actually just because it was originally used for making meat kosher.

I don't use the oven so much, but grill/bake you can season the same. If you are doing low heat (ie <400) you need some browning agent to crisp up the skin. Butter/bacon fat combo are my personal favorites. Kosher of course. Outside of that it depends on what I am serving it with, but I paprika regularly comes to the party. It also helps in the browning. You can also do a flash browning, ie get your oven up to 450 and put in the chicken and turn the temp down to 350-375 and go from there. What exactly is kosher? are you jewish Front half of the animal

When I make shrimp, I either put them on the grill or in a pan on the stove and throw some butter, garlic seasoning and some pepper for seasoning and let them do some sauteeing in there (just depends if its a quick meal or a big dinner). I guess it also depends on your taste or preference too. Didn't read this, but want to clarify that fresh garlic is really the key in what I recommended. Garlic powder is an alternative but you have to use way less as it tastes synthetic. I only use powder in rubs actually. Appreciate ya for the input, I love to learn how to become a better cook. I dont buy fresh garlic, but maybe i will start and yeah I only use a little bit of garlic salt when I do use it because you dont need to much. I forgot about broiling them also. NEVER use garlic salt. Garlic powder and kosher salt separately that way you can control seasoning and flavor independently. I swear the best gimmick of the world is selling people lots of salt and water Especially when the salt is shitty and ruined and the water is less safe than the tap. Actually just goes to show how fucking stupid the American consumer is. There are a few things about Europe I REALLY wish we absorbed better, but it is all related to people and not geography.
