I had a guy tell me which cylinder was which on my expy when I had my cyl 6 misfire. He pointed to it in the engine bay. When I got home, I looked down and the ford cyl diagram on the radiator cover showed a completely different cyl. I've only found intelligent parts people at Car Quest and Napa here, everyone else is a retard I think. We've always had friends that work parts in the back of Napa/Orielly. Which has really been helpful, especially when they put your order under a company name and you get discounts, and etc... For $20 you can go to your site and register an LLC. Then you can get the same discount yourself
  3. I may not know alot about car audio, but you 2 guys are idiots....there's no other nice way to put it. In another topic you suggested coaxials... If you have rear speakers set up in the way fcm suggested it sounds much much much better than running only the fronts. I prefer "rear fill", you may not. Speakers you think sound good, I may think sound like shit and vice versa. Theoretically for optimum sq, the tweeter should be placed as close as possible to the midbass, in a coax, they are directly in line so you have zero delay issues... probably not noticeable to 99.99percent of people anyway... Wrong again. You still have delay issues as the driving point of the drivers is not aligned (ie the motors). Having them on the same axis does something else, but since you know everything I don't have to tell you what it is. I feel sorry for you, you claim to like rear fill which obviously means you have never heard an SQ setup. Sure I realize that for some effects you can achieve this with rears, but instead of making it easy for you I'll just assume like everything else you know nothing about them. I do have a question though, what are the 0.01% of people going to notice? ie what will be different? You don't have to answer as I know you don't know the answer, but that's okay. I understand the internet. Here you go. http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/diy-mobile-audio-sq-forum/62850-tweeter-alignment-critical.html Rear speakers can = 5.1 or 7.1 if you hu is capable. But of course, I don't have to tell you any of this shit because you already know it. Because you know everything. It's ok. I understand. It's the internet. Seriously you give me that link, LOL. So you can't answer, what a surprise instead you look for reference information and then can't even summarize and instead have to link. The focus of that thread is aiming btw and how to deal with time alignment which is not the same as having the drivers from the same radiating point. I'll give you a hint, go look at the reasoning behind slanted baffle designs and then you'll understand the rest of the trade-offs. So you have 5.1 music you listen to in your car? Again, NOT at all what rear fill is for but I knew you couldn't answer that. You can continue to expose the fact that you really don't have any real background in audio if you like or you can search, misunderstand and cite sources from elsewhere if you want to continue to amuse. Either way is fine with me.

The game started right...well not if you are Aaron
  5. Actually one of your main problems you read things on dubious places and think they are gold instead of using your head and figuring it out.
  6. Think before you type please. MLV is an acoustic barrier it is NOT meant for damping. Read Don's installation instructions and tell me who it is going to affect panel modes?? No link necessary just a teeny bit of common sense.
  7. How do you figure? Any time you can increase efficiency it's a win. There's energy being used to excite the mic instead of a vibrating panel. if you weren't worried about it, why on earth would you brace an enclosure? If mlv is a vibration resistant material.. it's possible that it will still hinder performance because it's a soft material. That may not be the OP's goal but i dont see it stated on here. I know removing all panels in a vehicle will actually increase pressure. I'm not an acoustical engineer, just know what i and others see when testing. Again, it has nothing to do with soft. And MLV is not a vibration isolation material, not at all its goal. You should liken its use to lead, not a deadener. On top of that deadeners don't work because they are soft. The reason you believe the tests you've done and seen is that they weren't setup to be real tests. It takes some education to actually write a test plan and it has been lost on the group you are describing if you truly think that.
  8. MLV doesn't lower resonance. You again are speaking without knowing about what you are talking about. Please stop e-gurgitating it is really frustrating to read your posts sometimes. You do a great service in helping people with box designs, but your ideas and knowledge base is regularly jacked and those noobs read it is as golden when it is far from. Really please stop.

    Drop off the roomie?
  10. Shizzon come on. MLV is not a deadener but a barrier. There is really one use for it and if you've ever read any of Lithium's threads you'd know his purpose. Big no-no is wrong as well, it can be a tuning tool to match panel modes with acoustic modes and actually net you a gain.

Of course when he doesn't stand to make a sale he is surely not going to respond. And if he did it would be some fluff promoting only his copied stuff and not generally the real solution.

Gee imagine that, a deadening question an no response from Ant

  15. Good advice. Thanks Don. *surprised Ant didn't help...oh wait, he wasn't going to get a sale so of course he wouldn't* Some people are worth doing business others aren't. If you don't know Rudy owns SDS and is the most helpful deadener voice on the web. If you haven't bought your vinyl look at what he has, it is priced competitive and unlike everywhere else his interest is in helping you make your car quiet. If you have just remember that for next time.

If you are looking at 300zx's you might as well get what they copy and buy the 944.

Um, duh? It isn't about the drive, but what else can be done. Or perhaps weighing on whether it is worth the effort to go out and get it without the drive. What the fuck else are you going to do on a Saturday night? Watch COPS? Honestly... Your imagination is not exactly vivid. you've never seen my creative writing papers! And you offer up COPS??

I can think of a ton of fun ways to entertain myself...if I didn't have a sleeping baby....and also if I didn't have a wife. *not that I'd trade, but I have been there.

Beware, Rieslings wear many hats. Some are so god damned sweet they should never be drank and some are uber dry. I prefer the ones on the dry side, but if she doesn't normally like wine and leans towards putting sugar in things like coffee she may prefer the other kind.

I think freshness is the key, however, tasting metal isn't really possible unless the company you buy beer from uses a really cheap liner. All cans these days are lined to keep the product away from the metal. This is bottled here and probably only weeks ago so it really doesn't matter. Just like keg beer. And if you aren't doing anything else, why not drive? If you are you only have to decide what is more worthwhile as "wasting" an hour aint' shit.
