  1. For that budget I'd take at least $100 of it and put it into an amp. Look at Sounddeadnershowdown instead of secondskin as well. Much better bang for the buck.
  2. Stupid topic closed. Read the noob guidelines.
  3. Drivers are all designed for different implementations. Optimizing for what the companies marketing departments feel will sell. On top of that of course some companies misrepresent the optimal enclosure for marketing purposes as well.

I understand not eating shitty fish, but if it is fresh it is heavenly.

Just broke in my last two replacement rods. The replacements are WAY nicer than what I lost
  7. Potentially. Build them both and see what you like better.
  8. That prius is his everyday car. And i dont think a 10 would hurt, just sound great. The engine is so wild anyway Wow is that retarded. If you can afford an Aston drive it everyday. Plus why the Prius, most boring waste of an automobile ever. Gorgeous car though, with money being no object it'd be my daily driver.

They connect the water pump to the heater core You live in AZ and need heat?? It's extra engine cooling Turn the heater to max and cool the water in the heater core Oh that's right it is a GM. An inefficient engine cooler DOES make sense
  10. This ^ doesn't make sense at all. I've read it 3 or 4 times and I still can't understand it. All the power in the box ? You never hear the rear wave ? Essentially yes, it does sound weird but it works... In essence you are putting all the sound in the enclosure, and you really won't hear much of it, the sound is meant to come from the front of the cone not the back. The rear sound wave never leaves the enclosure, is that what you don't get? Sound is not meant to 'come from the front', it is meant to come from a perturbation in the air, which can be cause by a cone moving back and forth, 2 wings flapping, a door beeing shut etc. The subwoofer is not a fan or hose which moves air in one direction which is what can be understood from your explanation. The cone oscillates back and forth and produces sound. It does not shoot air forward. Or backward. Not air, sound waves. Water waves, air waves, electrical waves ALL follow the same parameters. The Physics behind them all is identical. You need to rethink your statement. Perhaps start with why a speaker is in the box in the first place, then explain with your theory above how a speaker in a box is going to be louder than one just sitting on the ground free air. edit: opened this thirty minutes ago so my comment would be more clear up a bit. considering it is still valid though I will leave it

Hey dB any reason to get the CyberQ instead of the DigiQ? Computer control sounds neat, but not so sure I "need it"

Can audacity do that in a large quantity of files? I still can't find the program I was thinking of Not sure in that I've never used Audacity. I did do some file uncompressing so that I could do some blind A/B comparisons though
  15. You need to fill those big arse holes

There's an intruder in the group ! And that intruder is the only somewhat decent looking car in that group. Nice scenery though. Where did you drive to Tom? We took the Beeline Highway up to Payson then on to Flagstaff to have lunch at Snowbowl. Then we came home along 89A through Oak Creek Canyon and Sedona. Which one is yours Tom? The only non-fugly one

No program can truly tell the quality only the current encoding. Squeezecenter displays this while it plays and can easily sort the way you want.

Still can't tell the quality, just current encoding. Take a 128k and convert it to 320k, Audacity will tell you it is 320 when in reality it is a 128.
  23. They can, but that's what your mid is for, midbass. Not sub bass. That's why my front stage combines with the bass so that 80Hz is not either one, but both together Combining and having your sub play 80Hz doesn't work, in particular since you started this thread asking about SQ. 80Hz is super easy to localize

What do you mean by quality? Current encoding level perhaps and some other parameters, but not really a quality analyzer.
  25. As with the other IXL's, I am sure they will be worth the wait.
