  1. You are NOT a Q buyer. DON''T even think about it. NEVER, EVER use the term SQ in a thread again as you have NO idea its meaning. Buy the BL's and enjoy as by your definition they are more of an SQ woofer than the Q...although your definition is wrong it is indeed what you want.
  2. You do NOT want sound quality. Don't even begin to say you do. Ever again. read my definition of sound quality ... sound quality can be used in many way ex the sound quality of an exhaust can either be loud and grunty or it can sound quiet and smooth =) Your definition is stupid. If you aren't referencing your front stage you AREN'T talking about sound quality. Even if you were you are going to have severe hearing damage within the next six months so you might as well say fuck it from the first place. Speed is NOT an issue with any quality sub....but go ahead and buy the overpriced RE stuff.
  3. Well with my research, I found that active sounds better, and gets louder, Also has a lot more play wth tuning which frequencies for each speaker. Now if my h/u is capable of going active I would like to do a 3 way set up. 6 1/2 midbass in the doors , 3" fullrange in the stock 4X6 mount, and tweeters in the a-pillars. I need opinions on what speakers/tweets to get. I mostly listenin to rap, rock, an heavy metal. I would like to go 3way active if possible if not then 2 pairs of tweets, 1 in 4X6 1 in the a pillars. Thanks in advance. Ouch, that isn't a 3 way. Please read some more or ask questions. - never run two pairs of tweets, it will sound like ass -4x6's are generally useless -a 3 way should consist of drivers that specialize in a certain passband. In general you want to find a mid that can play as much of the frequency range as possible -generically speaking your first attempt at active will sound WAY worse than the same set passive. It is far from trivial to implement. -there are very few 6.5" midbasses, normally that is a midrange and I'll add a really crappy size for a midrange You are confused. Stop posting options and instead ask for advice based on what space, budget, and listening preferences you have. If you continue down the path you are on it will fail.
  4. Your opinion is uneducated and stupid and shouldn't be shared on an audio forum. Stop talking out your ass on something you know nothing about. Polyfill will make the woofer think it is in a larger enclosure no ifs ands or buts about it. *your post ranks as one of the dumbest set of advice I have read on this site and you are getting warned for it :(

Hell my trolling motor has more horsepower than the first Evinrude I ran.

It actually just stems from the fact that a family friend friend is a bad ass mechanic but only works on Johnson/Evinrudes but he doesn't work on the new FI stuff anyways so I'm kind of just being biased for fun. That, and Johnson was the first to come out with the clean 2 stroke IIRC Ya all i know pretty much is Johnson/Evinrude. and only really know about the yamaha cause of a buddies Rabalo that has twin 250 4-strokes, they are very nice! And as far as the 2-strokes go now a days you are right that their really isnt any mixing required. Just make sure the oil stays full on the injectors and your set. and us south texans dont use trolling motors cuz its sort of hard to troll in the bay, but it would be nice for up in the marshes. LOL, amusing since you don't "troll" with trolling motors, that is what kickers are for. Trolling motors are for casting which you do a ton in the bay. My bad i didnt mean troll. most of the time the wind is very strong out on the bay and the poor little trolling motor cant keep up unless it is a strong one. most of the time we just use the drift method or just toss out the anchor. And i think of trolling motors for more of the bass fishing... Bass habits are common amongst nearly all inshore species (minus the tidal tendencies). Either way, my trolling motor will easily move my boat in the 'bay"

We're (my family) cheap bastards and just use the drift anchor although a few bays around here you can drop anchor pretty much anywhere and wade fish... Can and should are different. Fish school and active ones aren't predictable therefore you need to cover water. Using my feet to steer is the easiest way (outside of a guide doing it for me)

I kind of figured that was the case, but this guy was really trying to mask the middle of nowhere qualities with some supposedly more desirable ones. Oh well, no recruits from my class! And shit I should remember Winona but you only post in here every 3 months and short term memory is not my thing I find something to talk about every once in a while. I am still in that "don't wanna piss anybody off" phase with you guys. I'll be sure to make more appearances in here. When are you going to return the M to stock? Oh, and you "can't" piss anyone off in here. It is the hop. ........mostly anyway Bullshit, you piss me off at least 25% of the time....but I really don't give a fuck Your still here aren't you? Plus I'd figure that 25% in this case is a small amount.

Most skiffs have a trolling motor and a poling station. If you want to really chase the inshore stuff both are a must. Most of the fishing I do is VERY similar to inshore salt, although I get to cover water faster as live bait is never part of my presentation

It is now 100% to stock....well if Dinan stock counts. Up for sale later this week

That, and Johnson was the first to come out with the clean 2 stroke IIRC LOL, marketing got you. "clean" two stroke all has to do with DI. If he doesn't work on FI then he doesn't work on an engine that is worth a shit. 2 stroke without FI is nearly as worthless as a four stroke outboard. Once you start a FI outboard (***once****) you will never think a carburetor makes sense on a boat.

I'll be the first to say that I am biased, but my bias is from pre-purchase research. in the 250hp class -best gas mileage -nearly best holeshot -fastest top end -longest lasting (average hours per rebuild) -least recalls Perhaps there is another factor you use in buying an outboard I am leaving out, but if so please educate me

At least half the boats sold in TX don't have trolling motors; just FYI And how much driving at "idle" do the rest of those boats do? depends...lots of poling and drift anchor usage though Neither involve a gas motor and if so the owner should really, really think about investing in an electric.
  18. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
I haven't run an outboard that required mixing since 1990. WTF, do you all run 20 year old outboards in texas? I didn't mean outboards, necessarily...I meant two strokes in general...like that fucking weed whacker outside... Good two strokes don't require mixing

Texas isn't known as a boating state. MN, 3mil people, 900,000 registered boats. There are a few up here. Sort of go along with our 14,000+ lakes

In Thief River Falls? Yep, stopped in Detroit Lakes though for dinner and a hotel. I grew up here and damn it feels good to be staying in a spot over looking the lake. Nice. We had a Digi-Key (also in Thief River Falls) rep come to our class and give a presentation on all that they have to offer. Their biggest sales pitch was the fact they are right next to the Arctic Cat facility. Oh and the female to male ratio is IIRC 3 to 1. Nobody from my class, all seven of us, didn't really bite on his offers but we got free pizza out of the whole thing. He was far less convincing than the FBI recruiter. 3 to 1 ??? I assume you have never stepped foot in the town. Digikey is indeed right across the "street". Where in MN are you? ngDoes 3 to 1 seem low, high, or butt ugly? I am in Winona, I am usually up in the cities a couple weekends a month for tournaments though. I will be moving to Richmond, VA in the next 3 months, however. butt ugly, never seen a woman up there that I'd ride.....even after a whole bottle of crown. *exceptions there are I am sure, but it isn't in numbers that saves them I kind of figured that was the case, but this guy was really trying to mask the middle of nowhere qualities with some supposedly more desirable ones. ? I could have swore you said you were going to go get water. I took that to mean you were stopping drinking. Then again. Maybe I'm seeing things I read quiet-ers, quiters isn't a word in my dictionary. I carbonated a 2 liter before leaving home and wanted something to drink. I could have walked to the bar sure, but only obese roadwhores would be there and while it may be amusing I thought I'd insteada let Texas amuse me at why they think OMC makes a good outboard.
