A passive 3 way front stage doesn't make sense to me, unless of course you have some extremely capable build you passives based on measurements in situ. Do yourself a favor, start with a 2 way set with a crossover. Buy the rest of the gear so you can run active and play around a bit.

idk what frequency it was, but these damn things couldn't drop low for anything. idk what it was. Thats why you have a sub... Most SQ guys, Sean up there in particular, would rather not have a sub and just have a good 3 way active front stage. And unless lightening strikes I will no longer have any drivers that are not part of my front stage in my car ever again.

Going with 8's will require all active processing and most likely a 3 way which is a lot to jump into. It sort of depends on how much time/effort you are willing to put into this.

Tons of other factors to consider. Personally they aren't up my alley, but until you discuss mounting locations, personal tastes, processing, system goals and so on it is not possible to really recommend or not.

Interferes with just about everything, waves can either destructively or constructively add there is no other option. Active could help, but again it depends on what your goals and current issues are. It is impossible to recommend improvements without knowing what needs improving.

Your title has SQ which means NO rears. Perhaps it would be better to describe what you need to improve with your front stage, not so sure that the proposed upgrade on mids will do all that much...

The imprint isn't so useful. What HU? Are you willing to do 8's or not, makes a big difference in the recommendations. Probably going to want to tune that box lower, way lower as well.
