Welcome to the IHoP
Excellent analogy, as I need something simple and reliable. You mean overpriced, boring, and impossible to work with.

Maybe, but if I went PC it would be Toshiba, Sony or Dell. But at this point, I would really just prefer a solid PowerBook. Dell FTW. I have had 4 desk tops and a laptop and i never had a single problem with them. Just upgraded. I haven't had a Dell that has ever made it without major repairs. All 3 of my last laptops have had HDD failures, motherboard failures, 2 had screen failures, and a bunch of other shit. Small company ftw, large company boo.

Keep me updated. I'm going to get some security for sure after last night. The water tap in the way back of my yard was turned on, and it sounded like one of my neighbors was too. There will be a build thread

Money is never enough BTW, what ports does the software use as input / output ? usb ? serial ? Yes, also TCP/IP, contact closures, TTL, pretty much any sort of control you want. Extra hardware is required for each piece, but the security panel takes care of most of that.

First step is to find a good monger near you. If it ain't fresh, you probably won't like it. Second step is to order/cook fish rare/med rare (when safe of course). monger as in fish seller? Thats not gonna happen in AZ unless I want bass Either way any sugesstions as to species of fish? Yes as in seller. I live in MN and there is a great one here, you'd be surprised. All of the restaurants have to get their fish from somewhere and it can't all come in frozen... True........I just know out here 'fresh' fish never seems fresh. I laugh when my friends go get sushi and sashimi out here............fresh raw fish in the desert seems like an oxymoron to me. J I laugh when my employees ask me how I can eat fish in MN, they live in LA so close to the ocean they know its fresh. My next question is, "what local fish do you eat" to which they have no idea. All of it is flown in anyway. The monger I buy from here has better stuff than pretty much any coastal city I have been to. Of course excluding the really local fare.

The most expensive parts per util you buy are the ones that you don't use...

Indeed you might end up paying more for something that is functionally worth less.

Not sure why I'd want to do that, it is an intrinsic piece of my whole house audio.

salmon, ahi, halibut, swordfish ftw. Salmon is my least favorite fish to eat cooked. Farm raised in particular.
