Welcome to the IHoP
2 of them 3 15k on top of it and an ultralow simmer. No stainless or porcelain to clean either, all cast (dishwasher safe too!) BAH! I only have 18,000!!! But can your burner rack double as a trivet! Mine can..... something I doubt I would ever use in my entire life.... but it can to it lol Those really are nice units Sean. Good price point? The hood I'll get wholesale, the Bluestar at retail, the ovens at retail. The price point leans me towards the Bosch for that reason...in particular since my boss is best friends one of the real high-ups at Bosch which could yield me wholesale on all Bosch stuff as well. The Bluestar is cheaper than Viking or Wolf, but superior in every aspect other than looks which of course is the main reason that people buy commercial like ranges. One other side, I have found open burners to be hotter than sealed even at the same BTU's. Heat flow is superior so I expect those 22k ones to really fuckin' rip.

I need something that holds my plates. I bought huge food service style plates that are microwave, oven, dishwasher safe but they don't fit in many machines.

use should have been? Previous post I said my mother and brother use Dacor, meant to say they have Dacor.

Welcome to the IHoP
Maybe use should have been have. Warning on the Dacor ovens though as they aren't really good at keeping temperature consistently.

Welcome to the IHoP
My brother (who is a chef) and my mother (who paid for all our family vacations by winning cooking contests) both use Dacors. They are the Rangetop style and not cooktop to get that extra burner and not have the controls up top where they are hard to clean, but very similar. Definitely works well. I might say that is fancier than what I am putting in as the Bluestar is industrial first and foremost and fancy not so much.

You realize you just burned up a couple hours of my day as I am now going to start thinking about my kitchen again.

Welcome to the IHoP
Part of the reason I am excited to sell the M5. It pays for my kitchen remodel. Bluestar range Independent Hood 1400cfm fan http://www.abbaka.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Scr...ategory_Code=eb Not sure on which ovens I want, the Wolf probably cooks the best but I am skeptical on reliability and whether it is worth the extra $$. The Bosch & Thermador are nearly identical (made in same plant) but have some different features. Again not sure if the Thermador is worth the extra. All 3 have great convection though. Wolf http://www.wolfappliance.com/BuiltInOvens/...iesBuiltInOvens Bosch http://www.boschappliances.com/kitchen-app..._HBL8650UC.html Thermador http://www.thermador.com/kitchen-appliance...asterpiece.html I still have to pick a dishwasher and washer/dryer as well.

Welcome to the IHoP
Of course, I am going to need a serious hood for this: http://www.bluestarcooking.com/pr_ct_cs_36.html 6 burner 36" beast

Welcome to the IHoP
Of course there are non-code ways to get around that...

Welcome to the IHoP
The ones that retract into the counter do not work for any serious cooking and are a waste of money IMO. Capture area is more important than CFM's of fan, but of course having both is the cats meow. If you don't do any high heat cooking it is one thing, but if you do and you actually want it to vent you need a hood. Also, beware in MN if you have too high of a CFM they require heated make-up air to be installed. ie for a hood that flows 1200cfm I'd expect to spend at least $8k in make-up air.

Something like this can work though:

If you want it to work it HAS to come down from the ceiling.

Just need to be bigger on the inside. Although they feel larger to me than the 9x, but I haven't sat in them back to back so I may be way off. I figured. It does look small. I do fit in the 996 pretty well though so one would hope..... Regrettably I fit really well in the 996 as well....now if they just made normal car seats for them

Sealed or Ported
You have a very contrary post. Normally people who say the word "hit" aren't at all interested in lows by the classic definition as music that "hits" doesn't have lows. On top of this, everyone who asks for "hit" is NOT interested in SQ as that is counterproductive. To me it sounds like you want bass as loud as possible, but to not sound like shit. In this case the Q is not the driver for you.
-
Trying to figure out what ported 12" to go with
Please rephrase that question to not include the terms SPL and SQ as they are contrary. Instead describe what you would like to get out of it.

Welcome to the IHoP
The penitentiary in St Cloud is the 2nd longest granite wall in the world. Obviously the crazy Chinese and the great wall trump everything, but it isn't all granite either.

Welcome to the IHoP
There is a reason they call St. Cloud granite city.

Welcome to the IHoP
Cool. Don't forget to take your flooring and cabinetry into account. The lady we bought our house from put in some gorgeous green granite, but with white cabinets it is a bitch to find a natural floor that looks good with it. The wife came with, she is an artist. after doing the math it looks like we might have 70sq feet of countertop. We picked something lighter than I would have ever thought of, but when we brought the sample home it turned out to be more versitile than I expected. One of the pesices we picked out for a LONG stretch has a really nice patern on it too. Almost like a big asain dragon in the stone formations. We put a sticker on the peices, but one of them they couldn't find in their invintory.... if we don't get it we will have to try another shop. That will be hell. Don't be afraid to call places in St Cloud, sometimes they are significantly cheaper. really good tip. Installed I'm looking at ~4300 after it's all said and done. My kitchen remodel is going to go over the 10k mark I think..... crap. $10k is cheap for a kitchen....my rangetop, hood, and ovens will be more than that.

Switching up my front stage!
At a quick glance at least they have some brains. Dampening layer, check. Vinyl barrier, check. Foam absorber, well meh. Aluminum layer, missing. Depends on what sort of deal he gives you. The main problem I have with it is that for a barrier to work it has to completely cover the panel you are trying to block sound from. In the sandwich format they have I don't see how that is going to be practical. IMO you'd be better off with a layer of deadening, a layer of vinyl, and then some cotton batting if you want an absorber. Of course I am not recommending that you put soon to be moldy cotton in your doors, just where it won't get wet.

Help me pick drivers for a 3 way front stage
Yes, 30degrees off axis the direction the driver would be 30degrees away from pointing straight at you. Obviously in your kicks these will be off axis, but it depends on how much you want to intrude on your foot space. So is my goal to get these as close to on axis as possible? That would be my goal in the kicks, although it usually means smaller drivers and then you have the tradeoff again. Some people just say screw it and run things really off axis, if that is going to be how it is in your install you should at least realize it before picking the drivers What do you think you could pull off?

2" extended range Mid range/ tweet
That is about as low as I'd run them, of course this depends on your output goals and listening style. What sort of space do you have for a midbass?
