Wait until you work, it gets even more time consuming
  5. Not so logical to ask about both SQ and output. Which do you want? Either way, don't buy the eD the owner is an ass and the company screws many of its customers including most of the mod staff here and at all non-ICIX sites.

Still pissed about the S6. Damnit, I was finally ready to buy a fricking car and they sold it out from under me.

    grrrrrr
  10. Being scared isn't the issue, I'd almost guarantee that it will sound better as a 2 way until you are confident playing with it. Really.

    me neither
  12. The Seas would be a much better midbass, but if you are switching maybe try the Peerless SLS 7. It would really make things easier if you had drivers that were easier and more logical to work with. Before I bought anything more or did anything I'd actually plan what you will do to finish. At the moment though it would behoove you to change your plans.
  13. Well the problem is those Daytons don't work very well from 40-200hz which is why of course I said you have two midranges. I haven't used those CDT's but again, as I stated before the goal is to have as much as possible of the frequency range coming from the midrange. Somewhere in the realm of 250-10000hz surely wouldn't be terrible, but again I have no idea what that driver can do. If it can play nice even higher I'd do it. I am also not sure how that tweeter is, it may not be a good one for a 3 way either. The one thing is for sure, in particular in a 3 way I wouldn't cross over at the same frequency for multiple drivers. Instead you need to underlap. ie low pass on midbass at 200hz, the midrange maybe high passed at 250-300hz. Your ear will need to let you know this. The other thing with the three way is that you are going to have to experiment with aiming and phase between ALL of the drivers. This takes many, many hours. If you don't regularly a simple 2 way would sound way better.
  14. One of the primary goals of a 3 way is to get as much as possible of the acoustic range to come from the midrange. The midbass should also then be able to nearly play into the subwoofer range. For me this would mean 40hz - 200hz (300 max) would be ideal for the midbass, but that will of course depend on your midrange and mounting locations as to what is really ideal.
  15. Make sure the grounding location is good and clean. On my silvy I just grounded it to the firewall right next to where the ground strap attaches on the engine side. No noise at all in my system.
  16. Arc is fine. I'd use something other than the Daytons for a midbass, they are really midranges. Your crossover choices are far from ideal for both your drivers and for installation in a car. What you really should do is get a different midbass, put the midranges in your kicks and if this is your first 3 way I'd probably put the tweeters right next to the mids.

Didn't mean to call you a dirty rotten scoundrell or anything similar. just frustrated. I really thought I was going to have myself a new car in the garage for a while there. We talked a lot more last night, and the funds are just going to go into some investments, and maybe buy another property. Heck, I could get 3 homes for the cost of that car over Norf side. =) I just needed to vent. The wife and I thought we found a compromise, especialy with the truck not up and running right now. On another not so positive car note, I went to buy the S6 today and the puckers had a sold sign in the window. Some jakalope from IL is coming on Saturday to pick it up. DOH!!

Low frequencies are going to be extremely hard to knock down without mass and space...

Not quite sure what you mean by a haunt. Do you have floorplans?

Describe the installation more, it is really hard to go on with just $/weight

You need a barrier layer, not something made for absorbing reflections. Without it, don't expect huge results.
  22. Kslice always has good things to say about anything Ben makes and it is usually only for emotional reasons.

Decent or not they can still suck. I've had good luck there, but that doesn't mean squat in the world of buying a car.
  24. Agreed. Ive used the older edead v1 in 2 different cars over the last 5 years and never had a problem. I'll keep using it until im given a reason not to. Matter of fact im going to order some more(edead 120 and some teklite) for my new truck within the month. Ive heard great things about 2nd skin as well and im sure it does a great job, but ill stick with edead for now. what a surprise from the guy with the big Ben boner
