  1. You don't need a TL to test, anything that measures will give you relative results as long as you keep it in the same configuration.

Of course in Japan most strip clubs include blow jobs in your cover charge. And no, I haven't been to one.

There's a BYOB strip club here. I've never seen that anywhere else. But then again I don't go to strip clubs. Definition of strip club is funny where you live. Topless only and they have to put latex skin over their nipples. Sort of defeats the whole purpose if you ask me

I hear ya, the post Asia/Europe return night out drinking gets my crap-canned extremely fast. In a good way though so my friends always try to get me out right away. Something about jetlag tiredness and booze does me in good. i've found i get very dehydrated on airplanes, that could have something to do with it. It does happen; however, not the cause as I am extremely good at hydrating. This week when I return though my night out drinking gets to be my birthday

Only woodcone I know apart from Fostex is a Vifa 7inch (can't remember the name though). JVC, Panasonic and a few others as well. Seems to be a craze here in Japan. It was funny to see the raw drivers though
  6. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
I was in Akihabara yesterday and they had all sorts of wood cone drivers. WTF? Anyone seen or heard any of these stateside? Obviously a bunch of Fostex stuff but others as well.
  7. I don't care what the judges think (alas I don't compete either) but personally I am not a fan of the "center of the dash". I don't want it centered on me either, but somewhere in between the two. If you aren't competing move it around until you like how it sounds, after all it is YOUR stereo.
  8. I do have one question since I came to this party a bit late to get in on the letting the OP know he built a ported box. Where did the rumor that TL enclosures are great for SPL come from? There seem to be a hell of a lot of people completely misinformed about their whole behavior all over the car audio websites. Just wait a few months, the same crap will pop up again as another misconstrued reality gets plopped into the world of car audio. Oh, and ROFL for arguing with 95 on this.
  9. Stop with all the useless punctuation. And to top it off you are wrong. If you glue a box together correctly the glue will be stronger than the mdf itself which makes the screws completely unnecessary. Their biggest benefit is they idiot proof the assembly, so maybe you are saying that you need some extra help... (much better use of ellipses than above ) Do you need screws? No. Should you use them? Why not. Personally I never do, but that doesn't mean you should follow suit. Just to clarify some of the other posts as well, don't use liquid nails. If you do, you will need screws as it is crap for building boxes. Real woodglue is all you need, Elmers or Titebond will be more than adequate. If I were you, I'd follow Topgun's advice when it comes to working with wood.

Here we'll make it really, really simple: F1 is obviously more aerodynamic even with the treatments made to the car to increase downforce so it can turn faster, and WAY faster of course. F1 car: 440kg + ballasts = 605kg = 1333lbs and this year they are now LIMITED to 850hp yielding a HP/weight ratio of 0.637 Veyron: 2034kg = 4485lb and 1001hp yielding a HP/weight ratio of 0.22 The F1 is 3 times better and then when you realize that nearly 1/3 of the weight of the car is ballast that is required to build up the weight of a car to a certain point which for comparison sake in your argument could easily be removed what do you think is engineered better. To make the point even stronger and to get you to think before talking about shit you know nothing about, I will draw an analogy. What you stated is like comparing an early 90's Geo Metro (1.3L 70hp 1367lb:: hp/w = 0.05) to a brand new C63 AMG (6.3L 450hp 3920lb :: hp/w = 0.11) and then claiming the Metro is faster. Oh, whoops that is only 2x the HP to weight of the Metro and the F1 car has nearly three.

    and that's a top bitches.

You really have to stop. The Veyron is a piece of shit compared to any F1 car. And with minor gear changes the F1 will smoke it in any race very easily.

ROFL. There is more engineering in one valve spring in an F1 car than in the whole Veyron ROFL. There is more engineering in one valve spring in an F1 car than in the whole Veyron Its not like there might be a problem with valve float at 20,000rpm... dont they use air pressure instead of valve springs so there are no fatigue factors and inconsistencies wow, really???

yep i did, last year was one of the best seasons i can remember watching; from start to finish. i've only been following the sport for 5 or 6 years but that singapore race at night was stunning and the championship coming down to the final corner on the final lap of the final race in brazil was almost too much. i was jumping up and down hugging my roomate because we thought felipe was going to take it all and then hamilton crushed my heart i'm really excited about the fact that we finally got speedHD in santa barbara county for this season! I was in Singapore the week before, really fucked up my timing on that.
