If the 8's you want to add are midbasses in your front doors or kicks, , if your plan was to run 8" subs with a 12" it is a terrible idea. Sounds to me like your box is way too small which is killing your lows.

They are cheap now. By early 2011 that drive will hold 4.5Tb if not more.
