  1. How big is your room? I'd also agree that it needs to be tuned lower, way lower. More cone area wouldn't hurt. What amp are you using?
  2. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
    I don't, but my in-laws do.
  3. If that is your budget, I'd greatly change how you spend your money. $1250 for a sub setup gives you a ton of options, but spending $80 on the fundamental portion that determines how it sounds is a bad idea. A custom box for $200-300 would be a much better way. I love the w6, but if you are into a ported setup I am not so sure that is the sub I'd recommend. What are your goals? We should understand them before recommendations. On top of that, what other components/headunit etc do you have?

That guy should be shot. That box will completely ruin the sound of that sub.

  10. Raw drivers are different. Glad to recommend some of those based on preferences, but when you are looking for comp sets they make SO MANY compromises using your own ears is best. Obviously on a sound board you can mostly focus on the mids and highs as the mounting won't help the low end at all, but first describing which ones you like helps a ton. The AA's & Seas will sound WAY better than the hex set.
  11. If you put your mid and tweeter right next to each other an amplifier with a crossover could do the split between them as they won't need time alignment and the eq on the 880 should be enough to deal with "issues" as long as you choose drivers that have a fairly flexible crossover range.
  12. I wouldn't buy an AQ amp
  13. Nice work
  14. Since you say louder, I am not sure why you are looking at the Q's.

I do sort of hope that socks get cheaper. Pretty ridiculous that size 15 dress socks are $10 a pair.
  18. Definitely not something for your trunk. If you drove a school bus perhaps, but for your goals it isn't the right style of enclosure.

DIY raw drivers. IE purchasing your mids separately from your tweeters.

Luckily, although everyone said stupidly at the time I un-diversified when we bought our house. I needed some more down payment to avoid having a larger loan. At this point, I feel really good about the situation. The real question is when do you buy.
  21. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
    Or talking to the locals.

Never said quiet, but have you heard a wind turbine?
  23. I think you should tune higher. 34hz at the lowest, maybe even higher. Not my cup of tea, but your goals are WAY different than mine.

I might want your P9 and am in MN I even have an 880 that we could barter with. to the forum Oh, btw with either the 880 or the P9 going with non-off the shelf components will give you more flexibility and a better response for the $$
  25. I doubt you will notice, but conveniently if you do it is an easy fix
