Welcome to the IHoP
Oh, and Matt. Welcome to my side of the city

Welcome to the IHoP
/\ I hope my previous problem disappears. To date, it is my favorite car to drive excluding the Pantera which isn't fair and probably ahead for all the wrong reasons.

Welcome to the IHoP
You bastard, that doesn't help I have driven one a couple times, with permission to thrash away...but never with the preface of maybe buying it. This isn't going to make it easier for me.

Have you looked at www.digi-key.com? They have friggin everything. I've bought twice from them and they are very good and timely. Or Mouser, Jameco, MCM, maybe Antique Electronic Supply for the really obscure pots/multi-stage variable caps... If those places don't have it there's a good chance it wasn't made I use Dave's Insanity in sandwiches Great stuff when you don't feel like feeling your tongue for an evening. But I don't fuck with the extracts...at least I enjoy sauces for a little bit... I've seen you with hot sauces, if you're putting dave's insanity on your sandwiches you're diluting that shit like crazy first. Man, I get to LOL 2x in a row. I'll pretty much eat whatever the fuck that someone else will. Never ordered anything in a restaurant that I couldn't eat. I don't use too many sauces though, but one of my employees brings me back chili powder from India 2x a year. It can be as potent as you want it to be. you really should try the extract, there's no "eating" to it, even a drop off a toothpick is too much. Gotta love the endorphins though. I am a huge endorphin nut, but really feel that for less pain I get more out of natural hot. Significantly more.

GOOD 6x8's
It is different for every car, but basically you just need to make an mdf baffle that you can bolt to your car that the speaker fits in.

Very pissed, just got power back

I like your options although buying a four channel now so adding a sub later would be ideal.- Supercoupe
I've always liked those. Active 3 way tickles me as well.- Welcome to the IHoP

I did a Momentum article on an M3 with the full Dinan package with that exact Powerdyne. I just went to look and my old Photodump account is dead, or I have long forgotten the password. In addition, I checked on CS.org and the server is busy so I cannot link the article. Wrote it some 4 years ago, but still applicable in this instance. I miss writing for Momentum, in a way I would like to restart the Mag. I know Neil enjoys writing, and maybe we could get a few others to bring it back to life supported here. I know AudioJunkies is there for a reason, but maybe bringing back Momentum which was more focused on the average experienced audio and automotive nut on the net would be worth it. I'd love to see your article. http://forum.carstereos.org/momentum-magazine-f82.html Not sure which edition it is. This one. http://forum.carstereos.org/tech-presented-denim-t54811.html No pics though. Don't make me charge mine.- Welcome to the IHoP

Have you looked at www.digi-key.com? They have friggin everything. I've bought twice from them and they are very good and timely. And their warehouse/hq is across the street from the Arctic Cat plant. Thief River Falls has 2 companies to fight for employees.- Welcome to the IHoP
He's good at that pose/- GOOD 6x8's
On top of that the stock mounting location and method is extremely crappy. There will be a huge difference in midbass (notice not sub bass so your sub will do nothing for it) when you have a decent baffle. Also using the stock mounting location limits you to a size of speaker that no one makes a good one of. They are all meant to be cheap replacements which of course is what your stockers are in the first place. Perhaps expect a slightly better response, but it will be a huge joke compared to if you spent the 20 minutes to bolt some real drivers to a baffle. I don't consider bolting speakers onto a stock location as an installation.- My Future Set-up (I Hope)
You need internal volume, not sure on your math there: Internal with a single layer of 3/4" based on 20/20/13 18.5*18.5*11.5 = 3935 / 1728 = 2.27 cuft Subtract any bracing and the sub to get your actual internal. A double baffle wouldn't hurt either, but unless I knew which was top it'd be hard to give you that number. Shop for wiring at Knukonceptz.com- amp burnt, need suggestions
I haven't bought any and would prefer to have a car where the size didn't matter to me as I'd rather run a standard a/b amplifier for my front stage. For sub duty I wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend them; however, if you ask me why I want a car that will allow larger amps I cannot say that it is from anything I have tested or heard poorly about them. Just sort of an old school preference.- Welcome to the IHoP
I certainly would never buy one.... what'd he end up doing about the red anodized carb parts? It came for free with the rear end, an aluminum one was extra. I told him to paint it. I wouldn't have paid extra for aluminum either but I would have painted it. He just left them. He wanted some bling, which is crazy since he can't afford the damn car in the first place but it is his car.- Welcome to the IHoP

Jeez Tom, if you insist where do the tips exit? Far right and far left. No pic sorry. I looked. There will be many pics once the hood is on and it is really being driven.- amp burnt, need suggestions
I'd want to know what caused the failure on your JL. They shouldn't "burn" The Sundown would be a more than capable replacement for the JL. They don't have the staggered output like the JL, but that is really most useful for active setups anyways.- Welcome to the IHoP
100$ for the brand new water pump from the Cadillac stealership, 50$ for a rebuilt one from an autoparts store but everything I read said nothing but a brand new one works... Another 25$ for the specialty tool to get the actual water pump out, 15$ for the new belt and cover plate gasket. All in all I ended up spending ~200$ and 3hrs. The book time is 3hrs so it isn't to bad, hate to see what a dealer would charge to change it. The actual work is fairly easy, I took plenty of time and didn't hurry anything. I could have been done in almost half the time if the back bolt holding the cover plate on wasn't hidden behind the biggest wire bundle EVER. In order to change it you have to pull a belt cover off (its driven off the front bank's top camshaft), loosen the belt, pull the tensioner pulley off to remove the belt. Next you unbolt four bolts to get the front plate off, insert your special do-hicky thing-a-ma-jog tool into the hole, get 'er lined up and push like hell; it's an 1/8 turn cam-lock on the water pump. After that it'll just pull right out, clean the plates and o-ring spots up, stick the new water pump in the same way it came out and bolt it all back together and your ready to run. $100 for a GM water pump isn't terrible, that's cheaper than one for an LT1 Even cheaper considering it is a Northstar and not an LT1...isn't it? Hm? a GM LT1 WP is about $150 last I saw I just figured the SouthStar would be more expensive.- Welcome to the IHoP
