I think for the most part it was becuase 1, the Volvo is a brand new model (C30), and the A3 is only a few years old, but shit. I have a perfect driving record, always pay my bill on time, never made a claim with ANY company, a few months shy of 30, etc. . . It isn't that the German cars are expensive to insure, but that you are looking at ones that are expensive to fix and regularly crashed. My M5 insurance is nearly half the price of my Silverado's. Curious as to what insurance company you are using as I'd actually expect at the buy in price for the A3 that it would be somewhat reasonable to insure. How bad was it?

Is the Pantera on hold? I can't drive a Pantera in a MN winter...and yes I was proposing above that I would drive the 456; however, the big difference is of course not being a 30 yr old piece of metal.
