CDT Audio Equipment Recommendations
I 10000% agree with John, first and foremost fix your current install. Having non-sealed doors is not only killing your midbass but severely limiting your midrange capabilities. I am curious as to what frequencies you mean by midrange as well. Have you done some test tone sweeps to really figure out where your system is lacking? Also curious as to why your mids are only playing down to 100hz, that would drive me completely nuts.

Need Expert Advice
Funny thing is your questions aren't right. 1) You don't care, you want louder 2) You don't listen to music with lows anyways 3) Sealed isn't for you 4) Valid question, ding, ding, ding. BUY THE BL.

polk monitor series....floorstanders and centre....any good?
If you have a lack of shops, I'd really look into building some from either of the two sites I recommend. Both Zaph and J. Marsh have rather great designs that can fit any budget and will destroy the Polks. Plus you get the benefit of being proud of what you built and can have the fun of building them. There are lots of other designs too, but without other background from you those are two really great places to get started.

Not a bad deal; however, I'd love to see more power on the front stage.

Between the 10's and 12's it pretty much comes down to how much space you have and what sort of enclosure you are using.

Build plan
Here is a little .5cuft box Only thing is it is larger than the box that my 12 is in by a lot. Build the biggest box you can, it will actually be smaller than the small box.

If your goal is truly HT for the pair, I'd start with 20cuft and perhaps even lower than 20hz.

The Wolf ovens are bad ass too.- Welcome to the IHoP
A buddy of mine worked for them for a while and amusingly is the sole reason I won't own one now. The stores up here though also have about 20 problems with Viking to one with Dacor, Wolf, or Thermador although Thermador is the next worse in that list. From what I hear the Dacor or the Wolf are the ranges to buy. - box for 2 18 Q's in ht application..
