I do think that the crew there is overzealous, but nonetheless there aren't any available for sale here anymore. At least not at the big TV stores.

If the 52" range is better I'd go there as well, but then the ante gets upped. $2k, 120hz, and 1080p I plan on a 52 in the living room and a 42-46 in the bedroom, but would buy the br tv first and move it up when the 52's are a better deal. Not in a huge rush, but I need one or the other by September as I am having a meeting and don't have a projector either.

Due to the "banding" issues they aren't currently available unless it is the new 120hz which puts them at $1700 or so Huh? http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=744267 As for the $1700, I guessed it may be higher but definitely isn't lower.

So I want a new TV for the bedroom. Temporarily (could be a long temporary) it will sit in the living room. Restraints: I'd love it to be near a G, 1080p, PC input, thinner bezel and overall thickness is great, size from 37-46" (preferably larger ) Any good deals anyone has seen lately?

For a budget gas grill, I'd look at the Nexgrills. Lots of reasonable stuff from them and they can all run propane and then be converted to natural later. Nexgrill is the worlds largest grill supplier. They make the Kirkland, Jenn-Air, and all sorts of others. Pretty much all of the budget ones that are made from decent stainless.

Personally I'd rather have two normal BGE's than one XL.

I am of the opinion that a tool like the BGE is for you and not a group as most of your cooking won't be for 30. I'd compromise for the large group and not for myself. But so I can at least be helpful. 2 recommendations for dealing with larger parties Either pre-smoke the brisket and ribs and just heat them up on the grill. This is of course how restaurants do it unless you find one heck of a smoke shack. The other option is seemingly more "fresh" to your guests. Smoke the items on the smoker for a few hours and finish them on the grill (or if you are lazy the oven). Once meat breaks the 100 degree point or so it has trouble absorbing more smoke. Part of the reason you don't get your meat to room temperature when smoking like you do when grilling. This allows the smoke to penetrate and actually make it BBQ without making it so difficult that you can't do enough for everyone. Considering your briskets will be in the 8hr range and ribs in the 4hr this gives you a nice window to partially smoke on the real deal and finish on the grill. My grill has little wimpy smoking trays that I will use to fool people when I personally need to do this.

what do you need the XL for? I cook for 20+ pretty regularly. 20 is a lot of people, and unless I was smoking food for 20 personally I'd prefer to do that many on gas. Of course, when I grill I like to grill my side dishes and everything or at least cook it all outside.
  21. Awesome!! Looking forward to seeing what you do with your room treatments. Please be sure to post them here as well!
  22. Your attempted method of setting gains does nothing to prevent clipping. If you are smelling your coils with only 1kW you are definitely sending some sort of seriously crap signal to that driver.
  23. Good to have you here
