  1. The calculation is the same since volume is volume, but you do calculate volume differently in a tube versus a box. edit: should have read further before posting either way the comment holds
  2. Perhaps you should adjust your monitor, that can't be good for your eyes on other things as well. I like the skin Mark.

Amusingly I didn't choose to use it, it defaulted that way. Since I have been logged in for a whopping few minutes I haven't changed it back, but I do actually like it and had just decided to keep it for a while. I don't like the SSA logo at the top in gray though. The SSA itself should be white.

You should go walk the downtown malls if you think they are at Ikea or pop over to Maynards/Bayside in Excelsior for a drink, in particular if it is hot out.

I would tend to believe most all hippy chicks were hot. Hell they didn't shave any body hair. You know there was some serious sweat and funk going on there Nothing like getting the funk on with the funk itself.

One other thing, surround sound is pretty much a joke. IMO first you buy the front two speakers, then the center channel, and then you think about rears. You could really get by with some really cheap rears for "effects" and be okay, but if you have no center then you have no surround. Hell in movies 70%+ of the sound comes from the center channel. In music NOTHING comes from the center or rears though, so it is all about your preferences. With your budget I really, really think you would be nuts to get surround sound. IMO if you do it is only to say you have it as there is no acoustic benefit and many things that make it worse, of course the major one being that your front two speakers will be mediocre at best.

Considering a system requires FRONT speakers, there is no way in hell you can afford a sub with only $500. Get some fronts and an amp and enjoy your system and when you can afford it add the sub to play the bottom 5% of the acoustic spectrum. So what's wrong with the speakers already in my car? They suck. What is wrong with the sub already in your car.
