Welcome to the IHoP
Well I think for a smoker under/about 1000 is in the right realm it's worth a bit more if it can BBQ/grill also so maybe 1500 for an all in one. I'm so familiar with the cheepo webber kettle that I don't mind grilling on that. Sound about right? I really have no idea what to look for as I'm used to slow cooking/boiling in the house, then grilling later. For that you could have the BGE and a nice piece made by Nexgrill for cooking with gas. (HD, Lowe's, Costco all use Nexgrill for their store brand and some are actually rather nice).

Slow cook and grill are normally two different things and can require completely different styles of cookers. The BGE will do it all, but isn't free. http://www.biggreenegg.com/

You claim no issue with budget, but then offer no electrical support? Not going to get crap out of what you are looking at without it. First things first, what is your budget?

Did they give you the MTS discount code? It could be useful for me to use, $80 for that hotel is a STEAL.

Not quite supercharged, but the Trailblazer SS, Saab 9-7x Aero are pretty hot versions of the same chassis. I still greatly prefer the JGCSRT8 to both of them though. You're thinking of the Buick Rainier. The Buick Enclave is a unibody SUV based on the Lambda platform, same as the Saturn Outlook and GMC Acadia. Indeed, shows how much I know or care about the Buick.

Have to sell my draconias and miniliths :(
Deleted. The rules are rules, you need to have contributed to the board and posted to have a for sale thread.

I forget the cost but there is a nice big ken onion knife that I liked for kitchen knifes. The unique shape of the blade was really versitile. I have a nice wustof set, and I used the asain style kitchen knife more than the rest by 2 fold easily. The Ken Onion Shun's are about $250, but can be bought for 2 bills if you look. Thought about one myself but go back and forth on whether I prefer the Santoku or not

Nice to have, but it isn't really all that often that I need one. Curious as to what you use yours for? I also agree that I don't like serrated knives either Matt, but there are many times that it is the right tool for the job and should be used. Things that are partially frozen are much better "sawed", hard vegetables like squash are easier and safer to cut with a serrated knife, delicate things as well for instance a really ripe tomato or piece of fresh bread. bah even with really ripe tomatoes, if my knife can't cut it then i figure i haven't sharpened it well enough. I just hate sawing through any damn thing but i guess partially frozen foods would benefit from it. Try and cut the top out of a squash with a non-serrated once and you will be scared for your fingers.

Welcome to the IHoP
I have a set as my mother won them in a cooking contest; however, they don't cut that well with the stock sharpening on them and they don't stay sharp very long. It is actually rather easy to get a knife sharp, but keeping it that way is the trick. Cutco to me is along the lines of Chicago Cutlery quality, but at 3x the price. I use them for the who gives a fuck I know I shouldn't cut this with one of my knives, so I use the Cutco for those. I do like their bread and butter knife and my serrated knife is a Cutco as I have never bothered to replace it. It does everything I need, although I do have a Global tomato knife & a Global bread knife that are serrated as well and they are downright dangerous they are so sharp. I can't say that about the Cutco, but for a general purpose I haven't replaced it either. One other positive on the Cutco, the handle on the pairing knife is sweet for people with big hands.

<-- could easily spend $300 on one knife, but hasn't yet
-
Welcome to the IHoP
$300 can get you there. 150 chef 80 boning 30 pairing 30 serrated buy a bread knife later --if you are stuck on matched sets though this won't work

Yep, I prefer the plain subtle look.
