Personally I prefer the L/R eq of the 880, but if you won't use it then it wouldn't be a decision factor for you. I would personally with either of those decks, elect to run an active setup...considering you are a dealer I understand that this may place you in a strange spot with clients; however, you could have fun and use the OEM's for some of your manufacturers (ie Scan Speak mids (builds high end Alpine) etc). I do like the 5 chn solution; however, I don't quite understand what space you have and what you want to run. Since you did use the term clarity though I would really highly suggest completely scrapping all of the rears and putting all your dough into the front stage. It will sound SUPERIOR guaranteed. Of course if you choose the active route the next step is to really understand your space. I don't just mean dimensions, but aiming and of course how much effort you are willing to put in the install. $2k is plenty of dough for one hell of a system, but in order to get the most out of it you will have to choose really wisely. We'd be glad to help with that portion though

I think as you grow out of your teens and into your 20's your priorities change. As a teenager in high school, owning a car is the coolest thing, because really that's about all you can own since you live at home typically. Then once you get out of college (or work a few years if you don't go to college), you realize cars aren't all that and realize that a house is not only a cooler thing to own but makes more financial sense. I mean I LIVE in my house, but drive my car to the grocery store and work. Seems obvious which one should demand more attention. Sorry to be the ole man talking you out of the fun purchase, but as I stated if you want a hot car buy one that doesn't depreciate and use it to smile about.

wire is pretty much wire as long as you use a large enough gauge for the application. 8 ga is pretty absurd for subs even with a lot of power, ridiculous power perhaps but not even with a lot.

Don't forget that on average houses double in price every 10 years so if you don't spend it now you will later anyways. The best time to buy a house is as soon as possible. Add to that the inflation of 3% nearly equals the 5.5% of interest you will have to pay. And of course, the real kicker interest income is deductible. If you aren't itemizing on your taxes you are getting screwed by the government. And the morale is, buy a damn house you like and drive a bucket. It will make you happy everyday for the rest of your life instead of the next couple of years.
