Damping Factor/Slew Rate/Muddy Sound Question
You can only use dedicated midbasses if you have processing anyways so the whole search is pointless without. You can't just buy a passive crossover either and having some custom built will cost you more than many drivers. If you want to run a 3 way, it is time to start looking into active processing. Again without knowing whether you can fit a 10" mb, 8", what depth, etc... and what processing it is really pointless to look at drivers other than to drool at all of the options.

it won't ever. That's what Sean was saying unless all the costs associated with owning that car are free, it would still be less to own oone car. I have had this same discussion with the soon to be W and go over the math every 3-4 months. You'd have to really be at the extremes for it to ever make sense.

You in Baton Rouge, LA? Tyler, TX- Welcome to the IHoP
Not sure I understand the logic, once you add repairs, insurance, the price of ownership, the miles you drive it can't save you enough to pay for it even if your truck only got 10mpg.- Welcome to the IHoP

I'd probably not use the Seas for just a mb, but I wouldn't use the L8 then either. Something about playing an octave and a half doesn't make me want to splurge that far. what would you start to look at then? 8" is definitely the largest i can fit and even that will take some work. i'm sure i can get the L8s to dip down to 30hz with quite a bit of authority in the doors which would definitely ease my sub troubles. How deep? Personally I'd take the SLS over the Seas for MB only duties. for the most part I have as much depth as i want. I know that's a vague ass answer but i'll be building pods on the door and cutting the door skin because there was never a door speaker on the fiero. so i can easly build the pod out a few inches on top of the depth into the door, but i would imagine about 4"-4.5" is the max i can do before the seat hits it(and hopefully the most i'd need). L8's at $275ea or Peerless SLS at $60ea seems like a no brainer to me.- Welcome to the IHoP

LOL, the Krystals are more than you need just buy them and don't worry about it. I would much, much rather have them than the Monster product.- New sub advice
Not back to back, but I think if you enjoyed your Q's you will enjoy the ICON's- Planning a fiberglass build... best sub arrangement?
It depends on your car and how much of the trunk you are taking up with your subs/box. Not sure why you are using w6's if you want the most cabin gain as the beauty of that sub is a nice even response. Perhaps you have mischosen the drivers for your application, is it too late to change?- Too much power???
Depends on your goals and the rest of the system. Personally I wouldn't spend that much on a sub amp.- 2 Way active Setup for Friend
They will be fine playing to 2k- Want to go Active with US Amps AX5600 5ch...questions.
while i am not a fan of the x-overs on the amp it does give you some flexibility if you have some type of processing on your HU. i have the AXTU4360 and i use an RF 360.2 for all my processing. i am not familiar with your HU, but if you have processing on board then you are in business. you can use the amps x-over for bandpass on the mids. I guess a Mod merged my two threads..and I can't edit my original posts. Oh well. Anyways, it wasn't the mids I was worried about as I understand how to bandpass them with the Xovers on the amp OR the HU. It is the tweeters I am worried about since the Front channels Xover points are from 50-500hz, but this amp has a switch on it to be usable in a 3-way active set-up. I don't understand HOW with those crossover points... Why aren't you using your h/u for the tweeters crossover anyways??- Welcome to the IHoP
