2 ohm components
Are their efficiencies rated in W or V? Big difference... Plus I don't believe them anyways. While they will be better and louder than stockers, there is a reason you don't see a ton of people running them. If you have crossover flexibility I would lean heavily in another direction.

Welcome to the IHoP
Indeed my 5.1 will be a 2.1 with 3 other speakers. Video I don't really care about so much, but if I do a big screen I think I should fill it out with audio to.

Welcome to the IHoP
Well the BIB's running off of 25W is damn near enough for volume and of course everyone wants the low end. so I thought, the maggies can handle up to 300W so I would assume they get louder then the current BIB's (yes I know assuming is bad lol) and why not stereo subs since everyone is so gah gah over sub notes. I'm trying to come up with an idea that can handle movies, satisfy the party itches and still be something thats a pleasure to listen too when I sit down to some Miles Davis, or whatever I may be listening to. Oh yeah, and the budget is not too big lol Different needs. I am concerned, really concerned that with 100w the Maggies won't cut it and that I will need a new amp. Shucks However, I wouldn't make the assumption that you are making, in particular if you designed some big arse things with those goals in mind. The Maggies will be great for the Miles, but perhaps the movies and party itches aren't there thing. They will be in the living room in our house that has no tv and just a lot of seating I would set up maggies the same way, or in a dedicated 2 channell room. Regrettably the only "dedicated 2 channel room" in the house, will amusingly be the home theater room...of course after I get the funds to finish it, at the moment it is all concrete walls. It will be fun though to make a 2 channel listening room in an area with a movie screen.

Welcome to the IHoP
When I looked at the house, there were a pair in the basement. Obviously they were her ex-husbands, but my offer of an additional $1k pissed her off.

I could have "bought" them but for the money, I'd rather build something of my own.

I guess it's time to boycott Creative Labs...
I boycotted them a while ago, many other solutions that are much, much better. Perhaps not for gaming, but I care about music not games.

Pioneer 880prs vs. 800prs
Funny as that it only happened to mine once, although multiple times that once. I took off the faceplate and put it back on and it hasn't re-occured.

New SQ thread
Personally I'd rather run a 2 way using an 8" midbass and a 3" full range mid with no tweeter than an 8" midbass/range and a tweet. IMO having as much as possible of the acoustic spectrum come from a single driver is a great solution. Of course, the caveat is other than the L8 there really aren't 8's that play high enough to do it effectively so I haven't tried either. Mounting locations will determine a lot though. If both drivers are right next to each other I am much less concerned about breaking up the frequency response between them.

Need Help On Getting The Right Mid And High Speakers
Those Daytons CANNOT play up to 3kHz, not even clossssse (pun intended). I say scrap the rears and do the 3 way, it is your only hope to even come close to "keeping" up with your subs. Either that or run horns, but then you are going to need even more processing. Also curious as to why you selected that Tangband, not that it is bad err or at least I don't know about it as I haven't heard it, but I wouldn't say that at its price point there is much of a following for it. The coaxes will give you no extra output and in fact might even take away, in particular when you realize that they are eating a portion of your budget they will definitely take away.

300C Grille
Of course I like #3) but perhaps you can buy a set of wheels with all seasons and run them year round.

Hifonics question
Could yes, should maybe, either way perhaps you should just give a budget, driver, and a box and then ask for recommendations instead of drawing things out of a hat.

why 2 ohm? It isn't necessary and is a bad idea IMO.
