At a 1" span that is far from impressive...if you couldn't tell I am curious as to the span.

It will fit in my grill. More seriously, PE is a great place to order all sorts of stuff from
  5. Even not taking into account what the vehicle's transfer function does, the flattest response isn't going to come ported... please expand on this !!! i know how to figure out the Res Freq of a car and tune the boxx accounting for cabin gain, but this is new to me Perhaps playing with your beloved BBP6 might give you some insight... I am curious as to what method you use to calculate the resonant frequency of a car.
  6. I think the Type R's stink, but answer some questions and give us a clue to what you want and we can help.
  7. last one was birch as well...? Ha, you let me call it a box. I do have a question to clarify. You are doing this and you can't drive the Exploder either?

    /\ good advice
  9. The IXL likes the tube
  10. I think you misinterpreted Kent's post, it'll get loud for a sealed driver although that alignment by default isn't peaky and therefore not as "loud". The benefit though is the smooth & low frequency response you can get out of your system.
  11. Very deep, very smooth, sounds like sealed to me. I wouldn't hesitate to run an Icon that way. What sort of front stage are you going to integrate it with?
  12. If not, we know who to blame.
  13. You did note the beginning of my post....the noisefloor of the moving car will be way higher than any of the amps. And considering SQ has way more to do with installation and eq settings that is where the difference will be anyways. From a mobile audio standpoint there will be no discernible difference.

As a part of my job. You name a subsupplier or HD manufacturer and I will have to go and help them as they will be the key to our future, albeit a short one as the drive as we know it probably only has 5-10 years left. What are the other parts? Managing the sales force for the rest of the company for the new portion and the old.

If things go well, in 2 years my bonus will be bigger than my pay today. If things go poorly, I won't have a job. That is the real downfall. The good part is that it is pretty much 100% up to me.

The fly height (think stylus floating above the media) needs to be around 20 Angstroms within a year or so. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angstrom You can imagine the flatness that the media is then required to have as if they head bounces or fluctuates you lose a lot of data. Ever wondered why your 200gb disk doesn't hold 200gb? You got it, manufacturing flaw in the media. If there are any "mountains" over 20A the head will crash and when the head crashes, your drive crashes. Todays latest PMR drives are already at 80A so the world is getting way smaller. Needless to say they need someone to help them optimize and measure this which is where we will come in.

A bit of good news: - I am no longer in sales as I had a representative firm sign an agreement to take over my personal territory today - we agreed to buy a company with a HUGE upside today the bad news: - the new company will require me to travel to Singapore, Japan, Korea, & Malaysia, consulting with all the hard drive manufacturers
  22. An "ignition" on can easily be a remote on.
  23. Meh, in particular in a moving car I am on Richard Clark's side. An amp is an amp, if you are hearing a difference you will also be susceptible to all sorts of other placebo effects. **please do not translate this into go ahead buy a piece of crap as they can introduce noise, fail, and don't do what they are supposed to.

  25. Denim pushy??? Talk about absurd, he is far from it. Considering his position I find his reservation rather amazing.
