  1. Lots of things can get "loud", those subs aren't worth 1/4 what the retail is. I'd really, really buy something else.

    nice, via alaska.
  3. /\ I meant their power ratings, thanks for clarifying though

Funny I see it IE as well, but not here.
  6. Nice work again Mike, you aren't helping my home itch
  7. Your 2500d is like the new 5000d, the puckers went cheap ass and changed the naming. *unless yours is newer than I think Mark
  8. I'd agree with Jim in particular since you imply you want a reasonable tweeter (non-edgy) and good midbass. Good midbass and "value" set comps is an oxymoron of sorts.
  9. LB you forget one very major point, an SPL setup is made for maximum bass at one note and an SQ setup is made for having no maximums anywhere in the spectra. Saying you can get the complete opposite to mimic the other isn't possible. The only way to do this is to unplug your SPL sub when you want it to sound good. You could surely invest in the front stage to get there, but the box, the driver, and the whole sub application is not capable of the transition.
  10. you gotta be a lil nicer when ppl need help. i mean if everyone answered each others questions the way you do, then this forum wouldnt be as big as it is now. but i do admit, i like to look at your sig... Actually I would say the other way around, people should try harder with their first posts. Try and join here once, and see how you think of their forum rules. Personally I love them. http://corner-carvers.com/ *note it was never not an attempt to help the OP, but what he asked for in his initial post had NOTHING to do with what he wants **clear sign when someone asks for SQ and doesn't at all discuss the front stage Anyways to the OP, the BL's will do more than you state you want as long as you build a valid enclosure for them. In particular for your tastes (or what I could gather from a couple very short sentences) it sounds like they would be a perfect fit for you. Basically maximum output without being a burp sub at a reasonable power level and not going to hell when you play music on them.
  11. I also wouldn't hesitate to go with unbalanced channels, ie 3x100w for the front and 60wx2 for the rears. The surround channels aren't that important and don't really need nearly as much power. As much of your budget as possible should be focused on the front three.
  12. The one thing IMO that is critical for me to purchase from an internet company is service. Missing the capability for help or a way of dealing with issues is an instant no buy and of course eD tops that list. The one really nice thing about SSA is that none of us will stand for that so the manufacturers here will treat you well, in particular the core ones.
  13. Not any 18, but a good one will have no issues.

A microwave is NOT a cooking tool and IMO shouldn't even be used for heating.

You shouldn't have asked permission. Now you need to call it something else. I think you are building a dog kennel with a wood fired heater.
  18. Rephrase your question and don't use the terms SQ or SPL. Describe your goals and don't use terminology you currently don't understand.

Anyone have any good plans for a hydroponic system? I want to grow some: basil, cilantro, mint, parsley, chives, tarragon in my sun room but will never remember to water. Something that can be self feeding and contained in something cosmetic would be a huge plus. There are so many damn options and a lot seem to be geared towards illegal growing which isn't what I need to do.
