Welcome to the IHoP
I like a lot of things $50K+ ... while it is possible to swing that kind of cash right now, from a practical perspective it does not make sense. Been my problem as well, I refuse to throw away 20k in a year as it is asinine.

anyone that actually thinks evolution isn't real is pretty much an ininformed tard. We can observe evolution again and again. What we can't do is prove that it's a form of creation. There are so many little details that points towards it it's scary, but there little details don't make up for the huge gaps. I myself do believe in god, though i believe in evolution as well. It's not nearly as difficult as most religious or scientific people make it sound. I don't believe in religion and i don't believe in the bible as other people do though. This is somewhat a touchy subject for alot of people. Im strong believer in God. Just how I was raised. Now, is evolution true? Why yes, I think so. But only to a certain extent cause of my religion beliefs. Pretty uneducated to let faith determine how you interpret science. I am not saying anything about a god or no god, but there is no "think" about evolution happening whether you are religious or not. If you don't believe in evolution you need to adjust your beliefs and if your religion doesn't allow for it you need to change religions as the one you are believing in is antiquated and really is only a source of revenue for some cultish church and shouldn't be around

4V DOHC vs. 2V OHV The cubic inch argument is way stronger than the valve argument, if it were the other way GM would use more valves. Either way this whole comparison is stupid. Bottom line. DOHC engines are more advanced, have better emissions, can make better power per cubic inch but are more costly to build. Ford went the way of reducing emissions (of course they thought they had to) and more high tech, GM went the way of making things cheap as the only way the General has ever known how to sell anything is to make it cheaper than the competition. Regrettably this is going to potentially be the end of the General as the Koreans can outdo anything we can when it comes to cost, in particular with our liberal bullshit union crap. When all is said and done, the LS will make more power cheaper but it won't make more power. The Mod motor can easily hold its own, but the aftermarket support isn't there and with more moving parts it IS more expensive to build. The cost does come with benefits, but of course there is the cost. At the moment Ford is a bit behind as they are way behind in cubic inches, I mean 281 isn't shit although with forced induction or other power adders they can still easily keep up with an LS. Some cubes will make this power war unfair in Ford's benefit finally although without the aftermarket and with extra valves the expense will deter most builders. Bottom line right now, bang for the buck the cheapest way to make power is with an LS out of a truck, some aftermarket heads, a cam, a cheap intake and a carb. There is no cheaper way to break 500hp; however, I will add that it really, really sucks that it has to be some antiquated stupid pushrod no rpm truck engine that this has to happen in. As for power per cube and size, they both suck. My 1991 BMW 3.5L I6 makes 345hp. Fuck the 99 DOHC 4.6 and the LS, they are both antique crap in comparison. And do realize that the 3.5L in my car is a 1978 engine that has been detuned. Of course it needs overhead valves to do it, but all sophisticated engines will have them.

/\ Tom, that isn't the 4v head. His comparison wasn't fair, in a stang you need the Cobra for that then. 300hp in the Lincoln Mark VIII

Welcome to the IHoP
But obviously comparing 5liters to 6liters isn't going to work out in the advantage of the 5L block if they are both pushrod engines. Personally I think it is a crap rumor that Ford is going down that road, instead I'd guess they further develop the Mod family.

Welcome to the IHoP
And of course Ford isn't starting from scratch either. Hell if MoCrap can build a 6.1 that is reliable and turns out 420/420 it will be easy for Ford too. Plus they get to learn not only from GM & Mopar, but also all of the advances in the Nascar blocks over the past years. Hell in those, GM is pretty much copying Ford (at least according to the race teams I have visited).

*excluding the obvious which is cubic inches

Welcome to the IHoP
The real advantage of the LS is the aftermarket support...almost the only advantage.
