The solution is easy, make crimes with guns have ridiculous punishment. Trying to remove the guns that are already proliferated around is IMPOSSIBLE but addressing the issues that this creates is not. As far as I am concerned, life in prison with no parole for any gun related crime. Hell capital punishment is fine with me. I am sure that the number of gun crimes would go down, way down. And as you nearly state in a post or two there is a direct correlation with decreased gun crimes and allowing people to carry. Pretty much has happened everywhere and as you state the opposite is true as well. Removing them from the market will only "protect" the innocent, what we need to do is address the criminal.

For a 2 way, I really like a driver with some throw and pretty much they are deeper than 3" As an aside the Alpine W205/B Bird will control the H701. Not that you want to start over though.

Cash can actually sometimes hurt the negotiation as they make money in finance. I'd actually tell them you plan to finance with them and when it comes time in finance pay cash. You really, really, really should not do anything until you now how much airspace you have. If you assume wrong no matter what you buy could end up sounding like complete ass. The first thing to know in any install are the installation parameters and for a subwoofer that is how much space you can give it. Choking a sub will murder its response.

IMO there is a huge disadvantage running active with just a simple crossover. An electronic processor is a huge benefit, nearly necessary if you ask me in particular for a 3 way setup. The H701 is a bit overkill for a simple 2 way though as you don't need all that processing, but considering you already have a headunit it is hard for me to recommend another processor that doesn't overlap what you already have. Of course a somewhat cheap, but unusual recommendation might be to run a separate headunit to be used as a crossover. You could take the outputs of your current one into a used 880prs, Eclipse, Alpine or another h/u that can do 2 way active. Not as clean as an offboard proc, but way more processing power than an XM6 and that you need. I am also still very curious on your space limitations. In particular the door mount and wherever the optional places you had thought about mounting the tweeter.

Packing peanuts, just pour them in and measure how many fit. Considering you are running sealed that will be close enough. On that note, you better be damn sure that the baffle seals up really, really well. Any air leaks will kill you. For that reason alone I surely wouldn't buy one, but build my own.
