Sub Option
That setup is going to rip.

Finally got the car painted!!
It looks Japanese now, someone ought to buy that fast.

Do you think???
It is really crappy they rate a rip-off copy of a Tang Band sub at way more power handling than Tang Band does, obviously the driver can't take it. KSlice, this is a very typical scenario after a few more of these perhaps you will understand why when eD's name comes up name calling IS appropriate. Those puckers suck!

Funny, they never put a six in it. The 3.0L in that year was also a v8.

How about 3 way? Too complex? Opposed to a real processor like an H701? If you haven't ever done an active 2 way, I'd start there but you could buy your stuff so you can grow.

It needs the M package! I agree, but the insurance and the fuel would put it out of practical for me. The fuel perhaps, but you'd be surprised on the insurance. No one wrecks M5's so they are cheap to insure. Mine is actually the cheapest car to insure that I have owned in the past 5 years. 60% of the price of the truck. I love v8's and the 540i is one of my favorite drives of all time. But I think I am going to stick to straight 6's for a while. They have all been good to me and my family. I loved my turbo 4, but T for trouble, and the only 4 cylinder big enough for my needs was years ago and I don't think Stutgartt is going to make another 3 litre 4 banger any time soon. I agree on the straight 6 actually, part of the reason that I am not shopping for BM'ers. The reliability of their straight 6's is unbelievable, their v8's while great engines aren't anywhere near as robust.

No v8 with AWD though AWD or 4WD is something I am pretty keen on for the next rig. Will make it a more useful second car to whatever muscle bound piece I end up with.

And handles as well as a pickup Not quite fair to compare that with a M class 5 series, one is very, very fun in the twisties the other is a barge. Not going to argue that. I was only talking about towing ability. I was just being an ass, I do find it amusing to go from a BMW M5 touring to an LT1 though...takes balls to offer that as a solution.

Steve, one of my best friends just bought an 06 CTS. 10k miles, $19k... I don't think it has a ton of options, and may not even be a good deal (he told me after the fact ) but thought I would let you know. He picks it up next Saturday so I will know more then.

Ha, I've seen 518's towing 3000lb campers in Europe. (maybe 516, either way dinky four banger). If you drive an M with the 8, you wouldn't ask that question. Plenty of low end power and silky smooth throughout the rev range. Of course not an American torque monster, but really my boat is rather light and that isn't necessary. Hell it towed super easy with a 2dr Ford Exploder sport 3.0L v6 and that thing had nothing on the bottom or top end.

Hey, I was out of town snowmobiling all weekend. With only an EQX you are going to need to focus on your mounting locations. (I know nothing of Sub'ies interiors...). What is the door mount location like, are you willing to do the kicks, mounting depth in both locations? (IIRC you only have 2 and something inches of depth for the mid, but maybe that is in other Subaru's). Also, if you had to trade midrange clarity and accuracy for midbass, or vice versa which would you choose? Budget?

Hmm, think I could tow a 4000lb boat with that? I know they would in Europe. If it were a diesel.... maybe A big v8 should be more than fine no? Probably, but I don't think BMW ever put one in one of those But, there are LT1 wagons. And plenty of old Nova, Chevelle, and Impala wagons that can carry a big block. They imported 540 wagons, and obviously sold M wagons in Europe. I almost bought a grey market touring when I bought my M.

You need better stores, what exactly do you need? Did you see that pic and specs I posted? It "looks" the same as the ones for the back seat of the e/c trucks. Obviously not sure, but GM is stupid enough to use multiple different ones.

Cash can actually sometimes hurt the negotiation as they make money in finance. I'd actually tell them you plan to finance with them and when it comes time in finance pay cash. What will make the salesman move is to be firm with your offers and 100% prepared to walk away if you don't get the deal you want. 9 out of 10 car deals I make, I get up to leave at least 2x in the process of negotiating.

I personally wouldn't do either selection. If you have the propensity and possibility of doing a real active setup, I would suggest replacing all your drivers but there is no way I'd pay for the Germs. Before blindly recommending anything it would surely help to know your listening preferences, mounting locations (and limitations, ie does a large format tweet fit?), potential power, processing capability, and so on. The Neo is a nice driver, but might not be the right one for you although it isn't "harsh" so at least that part works for you.
