Let some other joker eat the initial depreciation, in particular on a Caddy. They drop like rocks year 1 & 2 and then level out. Lincolns are similar. For a while it was pretty easy to buy a 5 year old L. Mark VIII drive it 80k miles and sell it for pretty much what I paid for it. Did that a couple times. 80k miles for 1k$ is sweet.

If I were looking at 12's, I'd spend the extra and step up to an Rlp, Icon, Q instead of the Epic's. Not knocking that design as I love my little 8, but when looking at 12's the cost to take it up a notch isn't that much more. Plus how cool is the Icon complete with SSA logo?

At the same power on a sub, you can't hear the difference between 1 & 4 ohms, the difference between AB & D amps, the difference between .0005% THD and 1% THD. You just can't. Assuming a similar level of driver, 99 out of 100 people in back to back speaker testing AB comparisons will ALWAYS take the louder one. Pretty easy to see why you think you heard a difference going from 4 to 1 ohm as setting gains by ear will of course net a much louder sub at 1 ohm than at 4.

Steve, I just bought me an '06 Pontiac G6, Its a damn nice car. The stock system is actually much better than i thought it would be. Pretty quick and gets pretty good gas mileage. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a newer car. Sort of asinine to praise a cars stock system on here, perhaps you should be happy with other things on the car and like it for that since the stock electronics are going in the garage if you come here simply stating i was impressed with the stock system. wasnt praising it as you say. It has been quite some time since i've ran across a decent stock system. oooooo, so we have "pretty quick" and "pretty good gas mileage" from that description I am SURELY going to run right out and buy one. figured if he wanted to know more info about the car he'd do some research, didnt realize i needed to post all the specs of the car You don't.
