Yeah, especially considering the external control is like $450
  11. First my goals. As soon as possible I need to test a subwoofer at home, my sub output on my receiver just took a dump but conveniently I have Front L/R outputs so I can still use it as a receiver and then use the offboard proc to control my sub. This will be temporary and then the processor will be used to control my front mains and subwoofer. I would like flexibility for the future as it will be a test bench to play with slopes, points and such previous to building any passives. Also for general trouble shooting and dicking around with drivers. I would like to be able to run a full 3 way mains stereo pair and subwoofers if possible....if I have to lose something it would be the subwoofer control as obviously I can add this in the amplification stage of the subwoofer, although a single box solution would be sweet. I thought I would start a thread, as I haven't looked all that much into 110v processing and would like to make a good decision. Current options: (show me more please! especially if there are some with more than 6 outputs) Behringer DCX2496 ~ $200 is an option but considering the noise issues and signal degradation of the past Behringer units I am looking for other options. dbx Driverack PA ~$500 should be better quality, only 2 inputs so could never be used for 3chn home theater, BBE DS48 4 input 8 output ~$450 no idea on the quality here or flexibility as the website has crap for info of course there are analog units like Ashly XR2001 ~$370 Marchand and so on. Personally I would really prefer computer control. Really I guess the goal is to talk me in or out of the Behringer. It does so much for so little I am having a hard time with it.

Zapco DSP6-SL If it were a DSP7-SL I'd probably buy the damn thing. I may be using stock locations which would mean, midbass in doors, midrange in dash and tweets in the pillars. Sort of need t/a then for all locations which means I'd be short the sub output. Same problem with the 360 and pretty much everything else. Going 2 way would make it so much easier, but I told myself a year ago my next car gets a full 3. Didn't help to hear your SLS's. --could use something like the DSP6 and put the mids & tweets in the kicks, just have to have an amp to do the bottom of the tweeter cross top of the mid cross and bp in the controller. That or say eff it on the sub and just use the midbass out and bp via amps as well. To me a perfect world though would be to have all the processing separate from the amps just acting like gain blocks. In dash adjustment would make me happy, but I could surely live with a laptop solution as I regularly have one with me anyways.

Ah, thanks Neil. My ideas keep getting more and more expensive.

Stupid thing is leasing an SRT8 with a Nav is going to be cheaper per month than without. Doesn't make me want to replace the h/u with a W205/BBird, but it is so much cleaner than using something to neutralize the Boston system in it and an off board proc for processing. Damnit!

Had a whopper at my house last night. Between 7pm and now the dishwasher ran 5 times.
  21. 100's of options in that realm...I would assume most things you look at or could find would be better.
  22. You really don't want your speakers behind you. You also really only need two. I would really think about just buying a single set of 6.5" components and modding the front 6x9 holes to let them fit. All it will take is an mdf baffle most likely. If not, that car is pretty easy to do stuff in I would guess. I would shy away from the Hifonics, not what I would consider a quality piece. A real amp used would be a much better option.
  23. /\ and still gives you that nice eff up my system cancellation as well, no reason at all for them. Just put the one and only set there.
