  1. My point is, with just 1 "good" 15" subwoofer sealed, I have ALL the 30Hz on up I want. You? Maybe not. I'm not trying to be Steve Meade and knockin my brains out from 27-37Hz. Sure, i'd love to roll with him...but not every freakin day! I'm not talking LFE here, music CD's haven't cought up yet Even with cabin gain, I still have too much 30's up and not enough 30's down You make no sense. You say sealed is enough so stick with it.
  2. I'd have to say that I have a better suspension set up with my (maybe) too small sealed set up than most anyone else mounting the same drivers in the door, even with sound deadening, cause let's face it, that's not even true infinate baffle...thats about as leaky and un-solid as you can get...thats free air with crap in the way constituting as a "baffle" I think for having them crossed over 50Hz/24dB I have plenty of airspace per driver. Would i like to go a bit bigger? yes! Who has more sealed space per the same driver right now? You have strange preconceived notions.
  3. First I'd ask why the 3 way or if you would prefer, what about your current 2 way don't you like? Some details and even better pictures of the current install would help. My reaction to your current driver selection is: 6.5" midbass -- you really, really should try to fit an 8. Most likely minor modifications would be necessary, if not at least a 7. You have to put the mid and tweeter together in the kicks, it will make the install (which again is WAY more important than the drivers within reason of course) all that much better. Considering these are in the kicks and therefore can be on axis I would go with a standard cone driver and one that will play much lower than the Dayton you are looking at. The goal to have as much as possible of the sonic spectrum coming out of your kicks. Your tweeter selection wouldn't be my first for a three way unless paired with a mid that can't play that high which you would only do if you were trying to alleviate any response from the driver in your doors. Anyways, real help can't come until you define what you don't like about what you have.

Got my garage nearly moved in
  5. If you don't know what you are doing, you should really set your gains with a DMM. While real ears are better, if you aren't sure you are better off doing it with something that can verify.

They only come in 12' lengths...
  9. I can't say I'd recommend choosing enclosure sizes based on 'as much space as I could squeeze out'
  10. What is your point? In a house tuning ultra low can help lfe but in a car it isn't necessary since cabin gain makes up the difference.

  15. I can't say they are my favorites either, but that tweet I just expected to be worthwhile.
  16. I am curious as to your choice of enclosure size that you are putting all those drivers in on your dash? Also curious if you understand cabin gain as tuning to 20hz is absurd in a car and actually harmful and not helpful. Don't get me wrong, I love LOW tunings but you are taking it too far.
  17. Oh and power handling on a tweet is a moot point, specs don't mean anything at all on any of them. It will all be related to how low you cross them over and have hardly anything to do with anything else. BTW a good real 5 dynamic watts on a tweeter can cause hearing damage, actually you could damage your ears with less than 1w but it too will depend on how you use it. One other note, I am not recommending that you use a 5w amplifier as you can surely set a 100w+ amp so that it won't hurt any tweeter.
  18. I haven't heard the Supremo, but am a bit shocked at your "better in every way" comment as I'd expected the Supremo to be a rather nice tweet. Hell at $350+ a pair and from Morel I just figured they were pretty sweet, not that I'd put them in a car anyways. Definitely an expensive lesson you had. The next one you will get is that a good install beats good equipment. Focus your energy there and it will get better.
  19. No possibility of either speaker lead grounding?

i used to own a 1975 cb750k4 (first year of the 4 carbs, 4 cylinders), i don't remember it needing to run at 9k, even at it's whooping top speed of 110mph or so. though with the few mods i need, it would get most of that in the 1/8th, lol. but the 750 was kinda cramped for me, and you have 4" in height on me. can on imagine how you would feel after a real ride on it.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 82 is bigger than the 75 (I think) as I fit pretty well. My w can't even stand over it. It doesn't need to run to 9k, but at no matter what rpm it feels like it is screaming. IIRC near 7k at highway speed.

Yes it is another sled. As for the motorcycle, I just bought it to finally get a legal license for riding one. 1982 Honda 750. Only has 4000 miles on it and was a whopping $700. In pretty good shape, but I won't have it for long. I just don't find it enjoyable to cruise around with 9000rpms flying around between my legs.

Just trying to post an ad for my other sled. Got the itch for a Fusion/IQ and am selling my whole lot to get one. Rode the damn bro-in-laws two days ago and now I need one Sister is having a big bash tonight, have to unpack shit here (we moved all our stuff from storage yesterday), go clean the storage locker and since I have a covered trailer stop by and pick up my motorcycle. Then the drinking will commence.
