Better 11 then any other time, rush hour is from 5 to 10 usually. And thats 5 in the morning until' 10 at night true dat your definitions of rush hour are amusing. to me rush hour means under 30 in a 60, otherwise it is just traffic in which case cities like Chicago have "rush hour" 24 hours a day. I haven't been through Houston in a long time where I didn't hit 30 in a 65 (65 in texas ) I should have used the word average 30, not just reach it.
  2. that wasn't really necessary, it is and has been civil. I was asked to do it, so I did, your post were not the only post that were deleted, some of the thread starters post were deleted as well. I almost put them back, the information you removed was necessary as the OP still hasn't figured out the real solution nor was what I posted offensive. IMO as a manufacturer I'd be embarrassed to have someone competing (whether in bass race or something else) and putting up really small scores based on the fact that they have all sorts of cramped drivers. Having tons of drivers and 4 big amps in a space that really shouldn't have anywhere near is much is a waste.
  3. ? can you de-canadiennize that for me?

I always assume as much as the drivers I am using, a bit less if they are paper and potentially significantly more if they are Mag or Kev for instance.

and not just for little spurts at a time, that is just due to retarded drivers

Diyma is polluted, too many CA & ECA spillovers of the wrong type It used to be a great site, now I can hardly read threads there without getting upset.

Who, me? I think for the most part I agree with the choices made. I think. Not re-electing Steve should be a crime, though. It'll stay a cesspool regardless of good or bad moderation, because it's lacking an admin that gives a chit. Nothing will change unless that does... And sadly that may be true. I'm not sure i agree with all the choices, including possibly myself. But i'm happy to do the job and will do my best to fulfill the requisite duties to the best of my abilities. I find myself spending much more time lurking here and on diyma lately, however. Something i was not counting on. But i needed information and these two sites are much more robust. I will be trying to start more technical discussions over there as i work on my SQ build and hope some of the members who have disbanded will join, perhaps we can set a good example. At any rate, i will always come to this site when i want civil discussion and a fantastic resource. I don't even know who you are there. for the bold.

Not on their website yet, but in the new PE catalog they have a Dayton 8" HF. Too bad they didn't start with the HO.

  11. Fack!!! You need Vista to run a cablecard media center. http://ati.amd.com/products/tvwonderdigital/index.html Currently it looks like our lovely regulations make it so you can't build your own machine either. Bummer I'll keep looking when I get more time, but for now I guess I just order up cable and suffer.
  12. Except I am asking to not have a cable box at all...or at least have it be fully controlled by the pc. Preferably the output would just come out of the PC.
  13. You have a crossover on your deck use that and not the one on the amp. As for your alt noise, unplug the RCA's from the amp and if it is still there it is your amp ground. If it isn't plug them back in and unplug them from your headunit, if the noise is there it is your RCAs, if not it is your headunit ground or perhaps you blew the microfuse in the p880. What kind of car? Also, did you pull a fresh ground for the headunit? If not, you should.
  14. that wasn't really necessary, it is and has been civil.

The area you use to compute the length, therefore you input the area and the software computes the length. Personally I do it by hand as I don't trust those online things though.

I really, really don't mean to come off harsh to you, but if we're over here, don't you think there's a reason why we might not give a shit about what happens over there? Not sure what you mean by that...Hell I don't even know of what results you speak...and please don't fill me in.

I see your point. I am all for the DIY thing but building the crossovers is a bit beyond my level of expertise. I am looking for something either already together, or easy to assemble (with prebuilt crossovers). For $600 you definitely can't buy three pre-made speakers, they will sound like ass. I'd look for a good used set if you have to buy pre-made and only get a pair. If the budget of $600 includes the receiver you are really stuck...

Since I am moving and have no television service at the new house yet, I want to make sure I order one that either is already compatible or will be. I know I can switch, but the motivation will be lacking once it is already setup the wrong way

  24. I'd like to build a media PC to use as both my source of music and television. Any recommendations on where I can start looking? If it works better with satellite tv or cable I can do either. I have no idea on the functionality of the slingbox, but sort of looking for something similar for in house use only. My needs are: -Channel changing capability -Remote control -DVR -PC monitor only or TV out is fine as I will buy a TV and build a PC specifically for this purpose

Supposed to get an inch of snow in Boston, don't expect the weather to stay nice too long. Sort of cold and dreary here as well
