Deal on CDT
What do you have for a headunit? Woudl you be willing to sell it and get another? IMO the best way to control your crossovers is from the dash. You need midranges, not midbasses and I would flip the recommended budgets above. The tweeters play way more of the audible frequency range and therefore the budget should be rotated to them. As for what drivers, can you fit a 4" tweeter (large format)? If so or not, it will determine the options. Any preference to cone material or generic listening preferences you could share? It will help narrow it down. Lastly, mounting locations will really determine the flexibility of what you use. If your drivers are going to be way off axis you should focus on getting ones that have a nice response that way.

Definitely more a waste of money than anything. I way prefer the IDQ over the IDaMax.

310 > smart phone. I would put off getting a smart phone until you need one, they can ruin your life. I am a sucker for working now, there is a reason they call them crackberries.

Just because you use drivers that are regularly in SQ installs, it is not an SQ setup.

lol, while I agree I also disagree. It really depends on the source material for me. The surreal response of a full range for in particular vocals can't be beat, but when you start to add complex rhythm sections and music with a lot of high frequency content I get a bit less excited. Of course, I haven't heard any designs that are raved about and am more than willing to sample.

Why those? Amazing midbass doesn't happen out of tiny enclosures... True, but nearfield monitor plans that are readily available and cheap aren't very common either. A small stereo sub setup playing into the *puke* midbass range hidden under your desk could make them a rather neat solution.

I cannot wait until I can afford a new receiver amp to do just that for my downstairs and bedroom. I just need to move, I have all the hardware and the drivers but no time or space to do anything with them.

The real question is if there is anything used available near you. I should have sent my Crown back with you as I won't need it until you will be back. Too heavy to send that far though.
