Indeed I assumed you meant 3 way front stage + sub. Even if that is the case, there is another possibility but it requires being crafty in both your driver, amp, and headunit selection. That would be to pick two drivers that will be placed physically right next to each other and use the crossover in the headunit for one portion and your amps crossovers for the rest. The real disadvantage is a ton of flexibility here, but it can be done.

Remind me in a month or so after I move and I will gladly measure one for you with our scanning laser vibrometer and show you the difference. I have been meaning to write up a flexing tech paper for the technical section, but until I have a garage back I can't whack out any enclosures. The difference is huge. If you think we are splitting hairs I encourage you to go onto a home audio website and look at one of their sub enclosures, huge baffles and TONS of bracing.

Well I like both seasons, but we have a distinct advantage of a chitload of places to cool your ass down here. I can walk a half mile and be in a lake. Hell who am I kidding, I could drive a half mile and be in a lake.

DRZ9255 and the Ural are the only two headunits that can do it all stand alone. Other options Pio P9 combo, Alpine H701 combo, DCX730 can also do it on their own. A 12v modded Behringer 2496 as well.

the pipes cracking damn...don't want to risk that Never heard of this and don't see why it would happen aside from a shitty header. If it's going to crack from header wrap, it's going to crack under it's normal heat/cool cycle. You'd actually think it would happen less as the heat cycling would be slowed by the extra layer of insulation. It would be really hard to temperature shock it.

Of course if I am being this lazy for work, I probably should be working on the boat seat.
