How bad are the tunnels with a prop? I have only seen one jet riverdrive boat around here.

Welcome to the IHoP
I stopped into the local Alumacraft dealer and saw their 18' tunnel and it got my juices flowing. Never really seen anything else like that up here as we have so many lakes everyone focuses on those, which of course is a great reason to change it up.

Speaking of river yachts, I've got my buddy convinced he should sell his dumb aluminum boat and get a river yacht. When he is on lakes he only fishes the slop and loves to go into little backwater areas and is always getting his boat stuck. I figure he gets the shallow runner and I have a bass boat and we can get anywhere. He is going to have about $5k is there anything in general you would look for?

Luckily it is a pain in the arse to mail order as well otherwise I'd be phucked all the time. By the time you check everything out into your cart and it comes you have a list that is 100 items long to make sure they shipped. Boo. I'd rather buy it all retail if I could. Hard when you use a little salt water stuff though and live in the center of N. America.

As soon as the shipping comes to pick up my palette for work I am heading down to the southside of the cities to look at a Ranger 520. The silver one is in Dallas and not exaclty local, but perhaps I can just trade my boat as is with the ripped seat and do it local. This 520 is silver as well with Merc power.

Chicagoland is the closest BPS at 5h30m away, but there are 2 Cabela's within an hour of me. Oh, the Mall of America expansion that is nearing breaking ground is supposed to house the largest BPS yet. (if it ever gets built)

Welcome to the IHoP
of course and there is one a whopping 10 minutes from my house. I just assumed they would be expensive.

Not one of the newer tricky ones either. Here is a pic (not my boat) of the simple bench, the other side is pretty much identical. Where would you look for a new bench?

Yeah, I couldn't believe it I ran out of that store. They were supposed to be the cheaper place according to a few boaters I know, but obviously they were mistaken.

It is really just the time, it shouldn't be that hard but for a couple hundred bucks I'd pay someone,. Not 800

Welcome to the IHoP
Gonna try and find someone a bit cheaper, or do it ourselves. I figured $200...I already have the vinyl.

Not using that shop $800 to cover a seat that I removed, I think not. Perhaps the wifey will be doing this one.

Terrible, I get a bonus and bang boat is getting sold and replaced. 6 years is about the longest time I have ever owned anything with an engine outside of the Galaxy XL.

Thanks, you just put me at ease. I live in a pretty much Ranger only state which means their resale is really good here which of course is a logical reason to own one. Curious to see what I can get for the Cajun. I only paid $8k for it 6 years ago, but recently saw one sell here for $10,500. I would obviously love to get out of it what I have in it. Actually I have to spend a little money on it, my seat is trashed so I am going to go and drop it off at an upholstery shop in the next hour.

Going to be a hell of a ride for a G plus your engine.

Welcome to the IHoP
Plus at 22' it has to be better than my poor 18.5' Cajun which takes waves over the bow regularly.

I heard that the Rangers don't actually take rough water all that well, but considering their mass have a hard time believing that. Minnetonka has a plethora of 30'+ cruisers that throw serious wakes. Especially when idiots drive them almost on plane, which of course is the time when the boat uses the most gas and creates the most havoc on the lake. Friggin' retards, either plane or putt please.

I am not a huge Ranger fan myself, but really like the silver. Also looking at: Triton TR-22/TR-21 Ranger 521's Champion 223/210 Elite Blazer 210 Basscat 20'4" Legend Le-21 And that pretty much is it. The look of that Ranger I think will be pretty timeless, but I am a sucker for bassboat metal flake in particular in silver or blue but really like the silver. I do wish that beast had a domestic engine on it though, especially considering my brother in law works for Mercury and they are a good customer, but heck its used what can I do?

$22k might just disappear out of my wallet. Ramos, any reason I shouldn't? http://www.internationalmai.com/boat/dsp_v...ock=22Ranger522

Dome Midrange in Kick of S-10
Yes in your situation I'd recommend going 2 way until you buy enough processing for a 3 way. A half done three way can easily be outdone by a well done 2 way. Of course, if we had more details on why you wanted to go 3 way in the first place it could change my answer.
