If you are going to bi-amp, why not use active crossovers? Then you can choose any mid and tweeter you want. We will help you through it if you need as well.
  2. You'd have to have a hell of a vent if you went aperiodic, if it were me I'd just deal with the times when the trunk is loaded up with stuff or perhaps just pop it up a little ways and tie her down with bungies.
  3. Personally I'd never run two front stage drivers playing the same frequencies in a vehicle. You are much better off utilizing a larger midbass, separate midrange and tweeter. Did you enjoy the Focal and Polk tweeters or were they too in your face. *I did look at the link, but wanted to understand why you chose what you did first and talk about your goals. It should help us help you pick better gear for your needs.
  4. Great to have you, lots of good people here.
  5. Welcome onboard!
  6. Not that I need them, but you could sell me the w6's cheap.
  7. We are here for you if we can do anything, our hearts are with you mang.

I am with the Tirefryr all the way. Subs without a front stage are pretty useless in my book, a front stage without subs though can really put a smile on your face.

L/R eq makes the 880 trump either of your other options IMO.
  13. Look for the 7th or 6th edition online, PE was closing them out at like 1/3 the normal price a little while back. The "newer" updates won't help much anyway.

Tom you think Summer Nats will actually have most of the rides there on Friday? I am contemplating blowing off work so I can go. I have to change my flight to come back from Ohio a day early, but fuck it you know it isn't like I don't work all the damn time. Plus Jeff Schwartz will be there and I want to talk him into giving me a demo ride in one of his cars the next time I head to Chitown.

I will probably wait for the new car and do a screen flushed into the dash with a H650 or 701 if the 650 doesn't live up.

Sorry, I thought the 980 was the bluetooth non-active version of the 880 also with some added bling. IMO you should have kept your 880, I am really thinking of getting rid of my 8454 and getting another. The L/R eq makes it the only active h/u I could buy right now.
  17. We keep the drama for other sites, bashing inappropriately is not tolerated. How involved of a system are you looking for? aka is 3 way an option or only 2 way. Have you any experience with active setups? Any particular drivers you really like the sound of?
  18. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
I haven't been looking though either, but considering what floats my boat I will be surprised if I am wrong. I sure could be though, just double check before you buy eh/

According to their website it has a "3 way crossover" but the details only show High pass to 200hz and a sub output. Perhaps it is wrong, but I don't think so as I know not of one person running that deck that way on the internet that I have read about yet.
  20. Well worth it if it is extra, if it isn't then no reason not to buy from Mike at SS. Enjoy your Rli, I know I love mine.
  21. No hair pulling necessary. You don't need to use both sets of crossovers just one. Personally I wouldn't go with either of those choices, but instead get a headunit that either controls an offboard processor or get a headunit that has crossovers bulit in. A couple other comments. 1) Ditch the rear speakers altogether, completely useless and an unecessary waste of money 2) Don't buy components if you are going active. For less than $15 you can get a much better mid than what is in the Infinity set and the tweeter in those is junk. If you are going active picking your own DIY drivers is by far the best route you can go. There are so many to choose from, but we would be glad to help you narrow that list down if you give us some space and listening requirements.
