Just had a customer email a paper on sorting pistachio nuts using acoustic response as they bounce off a steel plate. The acoustic signature will tell if they are open are not, he now wants to do it with vibration and needs my help. Funny chit.

Pfftttt So cal> detroit Detroit sucks, but they have some really cool labs that are huge. San Jose, CO, and MN are all similar in our labs with of course the density in SV being higher. Fun companies to go into though. we have sillycone valley Is that in San Diego? Negatory. They do have a sweet air show going on that i totally forgot to take pics of. By sillycone I thought you meant audio. If you look in my post, you will see I referenced SV. The Minneapolis & Denver outskirts are real similar to SV. Next week in CO I am visiting: Seagate, Maxtor (what's left of them), StorageTek, Quantum, InPhase, Micromotion, Otologics, NIST, and Ball Aero. Really similar customer base to SV...

My bro-in-law welds stainless for a living, which makes me really want to open up an outdoor kitchen consulting/installation company. i've welded on just about every metal you can think of, with just about every kind of weld you can name..lol...SS is awesome to weld on though. it's soft, but it lays sweet.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Doesn't lay for chit when I try Not much practice though and I only have an Oxy-Ace torch. i hope your using the oxy/ace to braze and not cut SS....it'll just melt.. and i've never really brazed, but they say it's alot like TIG..gotta make sure your adding enough rod to get it "dime" up... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I tried SS once, and it was ugly. Went to galvanized instead which ain't great either.

CB, you should really try to listen to tracks other than the top 40 ones off of the CD's you NP. IMO you are picking some of the worst songs on a lot of the albums.

Would mean more time in Detroit and SoCal though. Not sure I love the idea of Detroit, but it would open up a HUGE customer base to me and a reason to visit all of the automotive engineering labs.

Just had a one hour call with my boss's boss to let him know I wasn't super happy. Opened the discussion of putting me directly under him, 1 step under the prez! We shall see what happens in the next two weeks, it could be interesting.

sorry, I love window shopping for other people when I cannot afford it, I am living vicariously through Ramos and his RF collection. No worries, I like it. As soon as I move houses I will be set to do something, of course if the right deal rolls around now

And I've got 4 per tower, ported, and alot more power to throw at them.... I imagine that is nice . Can't beat them for the price . My prototype tower sounds pretty nice, but its only one of them because right now I have 4 of the References, and the other four will be here tommorow. The good towers are in the being built right now, ones almost done and the other one hasen't been started. Active or passive x'd?

My cousin got a divorce and then came out of the closet as well. 44 years old, had been married 12 or so years with two boys ages 6 and 11. Crazy chit. His wife was such a beyotch though I bet it pushed him over the edge.

They aren't uber detailed in the upper midrange which would be my only knock. The MB is awesome and the ease of making them sound good is sweet, but the Excel W18's in my car smoke them in the MR. It is funny to hear the W18 breakup though-sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss. how high up do they have probs since my vifas can play pretty low so mght be able to kill it with some x-over play The Excels have a nasty breakup about 4.5k, but either a notch filter or real steep slopes and you can get them to sound good decently high. Without any tricks mine are playing to 2k. If I did it again though I might look at the Aluminum cone L18. It is sort of between the two drivers. In a perfect world, I'd like to try the Scan speak Revelators but I don't think their price is rational for putting into a car.

I am not usually an iHop'er because I was more worried about the other sections keeping traffic but at this point any traffic is good, just changes my most posts %'age hehe Its good. I like the hop when we banter around, pretty much my only relaxation as in my job I have no colleagues, don't work with anybody, have no peers, and travel a chit ton. Doesn't leave a lot of time for idle work chat which you surprisingly need somehow. I am slacking on some region ids on a target here, .................................................... den den den dadda den den dadda den den den bahhh bu ba bahhhh bu bahh bahhhh bu bu bah bu bahh bahh Studio 500 Might look nice next to a 650.6

he bought some crossovers the other day ADS i think Don't know why you'd buy a 12dB x-over, unless you run a cone like the CA18RNX. That driver is nuts, I can run it all pass and it doesn't sound much different than crossing it over. Its natural rolloffs are super easy to play with. If anyone is a noob and wants to run active it would be my first choice by far as a driver to recommend. No funny cone breakup, no weird non-linearities, pretty consistent impedance curve, measured t/s are almost dead nuts with published, and it will work with pretty much any tweeter since it will play up to 4k pretty easily.
