My buddy has a Lincoln Mark VIII with a 12w7 and I have an M5 with an RLp. Our setups are sealed vs sealed and we both think my system is as loud and has better sq. edit: forgot to add both are being powered by the same amp and getting 500w.

Been home for an hour and the central air still only has me at 83 degrees inside, really wish I would have left it on.

It works fine in mine, did you double check all the values? Anyways you don't really need it, you can probably just follow Mike's rec'd. 0.65 to 28 - 32 Hz ported -- if you want a slightly peakier output you could bump the volume up slightly: 15sq in port 0.4-.6 sealed

Or you could build mini enclosures around them on the inside of the trunk. PITA, but maybe easier depending on the mechanism.

In fact most C-pillars are purposely "vented" into the cabin, I never have understood why but they are. A couple careful, quick shots of expansion foam can take care of that though.

Of course, it may be a video in if you have a DVD recorder, but those are rarer.
