Welcome to the IHoP
Haven't had any problems yet. Put both trucks through some pretty deep off roading adventures and they've held up just fine. And I've towed 15000lbs back and forth to the lake through the mountains a few times. Excellent, I too will be occasionally towing 13k lbs if everything goes as planned. Not for a year or two though. In my case, I will never have to break 30mph with the load though. My offroad comment was just based on the fact that it is so civilized on road, the others seem not unlike my 95 F150 which can surely take a beating but you feel it everywhere.

Welcome to the IHoP
Any bad years or things to look for in these trucks? 1999.5 - 2002 Chevy Ext Cab 4wd -- prefer with towing and Z71 I'd love an LT and will hold out from the leather Prefer 4 door, which leaves 2001+ (or a really rare optioned one) 5.3L is what I have been looking at....

Welcome to the IHoP
The only downer is I'd really like a leather bench but those are uber rare. Easy to come by in the Dodges which probably was half the reason I was leaning that way. The next question

Welcome to the IHoP
Needless to say, I drove a couple Chev's and actually liked them. I didn't want to, but they feel nimble and connected to the road. I am sure that they wouldn't hold up offroad, or do super towing big stuff but my boat only weighs 3800lbs so it isn't really that big. Plus I understand they get much better gas mileage and swallow a stereo easier. I have to decide soon as my headunit will be here and then I need a vehicle.

Welcome to the IHoP
Drove an F150 and I tell ya, the era between the 96's and the new F150's is not at all for me. The SuperCrew is sort of neat as you get four doors, but a 4' box just won't do it for me.

Welcome to the IHoP
Drove an F250 Diesel, just flat out to friggin' big to drive around a city for me though. I feel like a pucker in something so big.

Welcome to the IHoP
I drove a big Dodge today--feels like a truck and I don't mean a pickup.
