Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Comfort and road bike don't match. Although getting something that takes at least 28mm tires helps a shit load. Do you ride in your drops much?

Where are you going to ride? ie, all pavement or not?

Ha, 2009 isn't vintage. My road bike is an 82 Trek. Anything with knobby tires will be slow and comfortable in comparison. I have my wife on a 2005'ish Giant XTC NRS. Full squish and reasonably rolling efficiency tires with enough knobs to grab on loose gravel for confidence. How athletic/biking capable is she? How about conditioning in comparison?

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
First day i ran out of gear without a hill. Was spinning out and doing a hair over 25mph. Couldn't hold that for long though. Front sprocket is a 28 and the small rear a 10. 42 on the up hill end. Going to break 100mi on the fatties this week i smile the whole time too

There is nothing more comfortable than a fat bike It isn't that it is slower, but it definitely takes more energy than my road bike

Second Battery 101
As with anything it depends on your goals. I have 3 pieces of crap in my boat, does more than I need. Conveniently marine stores and craptons of websites have battery tie downs as well. Sealed batteries don't require a case, but my non-sealed ones do. Got the battery case from the same place

MK - here is how I'd spend $550 on a camera right now Canon 40d used $200 used Canon 28 F1.8 $110 used Canon 50mm 1.4 $230 used Later add 85 1.8 for $300 or 100 f2 for $300 135 f2 for $750 60d body will get you video at $450, but then I'd probably grab the 24 F2.8 stm instead of the 28.

If the big whitey were 2/3 the weight I would have bought one already...I am stubbornly trying to have my cake and eat it too.

I am stupidly thinking about buying a 200 2.8 the day you come out so we can flop back and forth. Just checking Nat Camera's return policy on used lenses as they have 2 in town for $520. Figured it would be a fun side by side. Shoot the 200 and the 70-200 on my 70d and your 6d changing back and forth. My only concern is that it will have me shopping for a 5D after.

I compared the two new ones on the same body... Have to be careful with camera test and reviews.

I know it falls off at the 4' range to around 180mm but I can't find that spec real fast
