Super annoying to try and find that is for sure.

True, but I am pretty anal about what might overspray onto the car so I will have to tape off a bunch of she-i-o.
  3. I missed the eq comment and just thought about pc controlled crossover...the 701 combo would be sweet and would allow you to use a pretty cheap soundcard without issues. If you go analog out on the carputer you will need at least 100 bones for a pro-audio soundcard and preferably 200.
  4. When I read check out my windshield, I thought it was going to be a flexing vid.
  5. If we went any bigger the enclosure wouldnt fit... That reason is invalid.
  6. While I actually like 10's, I also tend to partly agree with Eldorado in that unless space is a major issue why a 12 wouldn't be used instead--they are better. SPL is not a concern of mine at all as any size canl get loud enough, but the frequency response and LFE of the 12 is the easiest to implement smoothly.
  7. Transfer function, FRF, H1 estimators, blah, blah, blah. Basically you have two influences on your sub sound. The first and foremost is your sub playing, the second is the response of the car. When you put the two together you get the transfered response of the sub which TF is referring to correctly as the transfer function. It is an FFT term used to describe the influence of multiple sound/vibration sources acting together and what their summed output is (when you sum it could be a negative value with a positive equaling cancellation). i.e. you might have put your sub into a spot where the bass is cancelling itself due to the reflections in your car. Shoot it another way and see, don't just try the cosmetic locations but try others too. Perhaps you will have to build a new box firing a different direction to get it to sound good. You just need to make sure of that by trying your current one in a lot of locations to check it out. Let us know what happens!
  8. Looks good, great equipment too.

Ground loop for sure? My power is so dirty it gives me problems too.

Umm, try 15's. Those other little ones are super easy in comparison. At least, a good portion of shoes are made to 13, but none of them are the cheap ones.

*weighs removing caliper effort vs. a huge tape job*

Tools ftw. Makes it fun versus a chore.
  13. Nice, thanks for posting pics!

Then use a roundover bit after using a straight and it will be clean enough to laminate... Getting better Flakko, you might benefit from a finer blade tip for your jigsaw all the glue makes it almost like metal to bits. Takes a little longer but makes it easier to handle. Also if you want to make straight cuts with your skil-saw, use those sweet clamps you have to hold an uncut piece of mdf against the saw as a straight edge. Takes an extra minute per cut max and your lines are perfect as long as your blade is okay. The trick is to use the saw to measure where you clamp on both ends...
  15. Jealous I am.

Mine were pretty easy. Never get too dirty, so the cleaning was the easy part. Did you spray them? I have a paintbrush (hehe), airbrush, and auto-body gun. I would prefer to not remove them however...so lazy, hate brake fluid, gonna pay someone to flush them as I don't feel like rebuilding a tool to do it. Just curious as avoiding any "learning" mistakes is great. Only time I have ever painted a set they were brand new, made it pretty easy to mask and spray.

Hmmm, I like the idea of the stealth clean look. Wish I was good with the airbrush I'd do 'em black with a logo.

Broadcast radio?? What is that? Do they still have it? Is this just something that only is still available on the East Coast?
  22. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
If this is still available it is a sweet deal. http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/showth...highlight=adcom

As requested, including a shot of my f'd up Fedex brake rotor. The short shift arm is hard to see but it is in the pic. Also just realized I ordered Bosch oil filters and got Mahle's. http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=3/6115040478.jpg&s=x10 Anyone painted brake calipers before? Since I am putting more open rims on this spring, I thought I would paint the calipers when I do my brakes. Red crossed my mind, but I like the subtle black. I imagine it should be pretty easy, clean, clean, clean, paint and assemble?
