Welcome to the IHoP
Thanks, I love it as well. I have wanted an E34 M5 since the day they came out in 89 and finally could afford one. Good confusion though....only found the site in Sept, so you haven't been gone that long. Never had another name...on diyma I am B&K but other than that pretty much M5 all over. Here is the history: Bought the car of my dreams Needed a stereo Started to do research Found a few audio forums (never belonged to any forum before) Decided on a stereo Picked a username on the forums that I found thinking I would get some quick advice and get out. Really felt original and used "///M5" as I figured M5 would be taken. Installed said stereo Now re-addicted to car audio (had a few "large" systems including my first in 1989) And of course, like it here at SSA Nice to meet you Sean... My other car is an E34 I love E34 M5's, but I ended up getting my car from a friend and got a good deal... He put the wheels on it and about a month later I bought it, so that was good Have you done anything to your car? I now frequent bimmerforums.com and am spending some money on my car.. Well, here is a history of the changes that have been done on my car: Dinan Stage 3 Suspension: springs, sway bars, camber plates, rear auto-levelling removed. Upgraded bushings. Dinan chip and cam sprocket Eichmann catback exhaust system Windows tinted (illegally for MN at 35%) --just ordering a short shift kit now (in pieces as it is MUCH cheaper) had a K&N Filter/replaced with stock which seems faster?? Since I am running snow tires, I am probably going to put some 18's in the spring. Right now I am leaning towards these ASA rims (as light as the stock 17's and made using BBS casting technology at <$200 each) And of course the stereo, which you can find my toils listed here (remember I was pretty new when I started with this) Front Stage: Seas W18 and Alpine 2904 http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...wtopic=4650&hl= Sub: SS RLp http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...wtopic=4166&hl= And some gratiutious pictures: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...wtopic=5044&hl= So, no I haven't really done anything. Your E34 looks real clean and sweet. I really like the black, but when I found the red M I had to have it. My original intention was to get a normal E34 and put a supercharger on it and modify the suspension. I have a 9psi Powerdyne SC sitting in my basement that still might make it on my car, but am leaning towards keeping it as is for a while. If there are any questions that you have on yours, shoot away. I am active with the local bimmer group and have a lot of resources that I can lean on if I don't know the answers. Or if you make it up my way, come by for a test drive.

Welcome to the IHoP
Made in CCCP is the only thing that scares me. It can either rock or be a bummer, especially from a reliability standpoint. After a few others have it for a while I might want one. I am glad they are finally marketing it here! In Soviet Russia, crossover slopes choose you.

Not on the website yet, but they have "had" them in the warehouse for a few days according to Azgrower. Shouldn't be long now...

Welcome to the IHoP
..... He supposedly mailed me a money order. Two weeks later, I still haven't seen it. Hasn't arrived at my mailbox. He PM's me today telling me that he knows I recieved it because it was cashed by someone named Eric (I have no idea who the fudge Eric is) and he's going to start leaving me neg feedback. So, yeah....now I have to deal with trying to figure out who the hell cashed the money order and pursue legal action against him/them, cause it sure in the hell wasn't me or anyone I know. The damned thing never even arrived at my house that I'm aware. Since Kent isn't around, I will speak in his place. Le arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Super frustrating, but as Fryr said whoever cashed it is liable as it was made out to you. If he didn't make it out to you, he didn't pay you. If there is anything that we can do, we have your back. Sorry for the hassle.

Depends on the HP rating of said shop vac's motor. Anything less than 5hp is undersized shop vac molestation, a class B Felony. Also a case of False Identity. <5 hp is not a shop vac.

Welcome to the IHoP
Crap, why does everything have to be so hard. I suppose I should qualify. My system started out as 2 JL10W0's that I had in my other car. I also had a set of Infinity 6.5components. The M5 has 5.25 drivers in the kicks, 3's in the dash, and tweets in the sails. When my old car was totaled I removed my old system and was going to put it it my car. What I didn't realize is that I tore a surround on the Infinities in the removal process, and that no way in heck were 6.5's going to mount to my kickpanels. I built a new box for my 10's and it took up the whole trunk which I need for my job, needless to say a fiberglass project ensued. I selected the Rlp based on lots of reading and enclosure size. Then I heard the sub and realized I couldn't put some crap azz components in with it, so I ordered Cheapboys used Seas W18's from Diyma. Next thing ya know all I do is think about the car stereo and now I need to upgrade the truck. I really want to try out the Daytons, but don't really have the time to go that custom to get them in.....unless Jim tells me it will be fairly easy!! Aargh!

Welcome to the IHoP
Did Jim fit 7's in his van? I really, really have the itch to buy the new Dayton RS180-4ohms. My F150 is dying to have a system...

Welcome to the IHoP
me neither then. I don't spend much time there and "thought" I remembered something. I guess the brain recognizes patterns that aren't there at 2:20am after working 12 hours

Welcome to the IHoP
Since I was asked a question....do you all know each other just from the site? Obviously there is a VA connection and perhaps a few other locales, but otherwise is it just an SSA brotherhood?

Welcome to the IHoP
that is surprising, my dad's truck just got a new battery for the first time in like 7 years, we were amazed the old one lasted that long Mine car didn't start last night, so I checked the numbering on my battery and low and behold it was the original--from 1991! I'd buy another one! Hell, I'd kill to have a batt last half as long. Normally I get a few years max out of them up in the North, but this one takes the cake... couldn't believe it. It is the size of a tractor battery though. Nearly twice the size of a normal batt, not that it should have anything to do with it. I was talking to the salesman at MB. He was telling me the german batteries are way better than the american ones. And they do look like tractor batteries. One time i hacked a bunch of old tractor batteries apart with a machette(sp) In Soviet Russia car batteries hack you up with Machete.

St. Louis sucks. Not just cause their new "car stereo blue laws" but chit just don't like it. I can see the arch out my hotel window which is cool, but dang nothing I want to do here
