The woman can sew, she actually likes to. Where do you cut? Highspots, lowspots? Would "padding" help?

Chit, I'll buy a heatgun if it helps that much.
  3. Dead Pedal?? The last pic shows the footrest and my clutch pedal, the brake and gas aren't in the pic. Handlebrake for the parking manuvers to the other side of the street in the winter.
  4. Well, that was sort of one of my questions. Since the voltage will swing from ~13.8V - 12V, I'd assume that would complicate the design some. Aha, I bet the regulator that Neon speaks about.
  5. Nope. I'll post the voltage regulator design asap. Can you find me the current draw? You will need a LM7806 3-pin regulator forsure, other parts depend on the current draw. Not one, but 3 and indeed an ohm's law solution. Am I missing something? Your way does sound sexy.
  6. Alright, here it is with the math filled in. You just need three resistors and they are all the same so it should be cheap. Unless of course you should be basing this on 13.5volts....I am not sure on that.
  7. ________ /\ \ | < | R1 > < --------- Vin \ /\ < | | R2 > Vout | < | \/ | \/ __________________ Vout = I*R2 = (R2* Vin)/ (R1+R2) Uh that got butchered in editing, try again with a picture

Alright I have some poo to post. I don't feel like starting a thread in fabrication and I don't feel like reading a bunch on f'glass posts to find my answer. How the fvck do you sand the body filler in the little areas, for instance around my kickpanels. I have painted and repaired a few cars, but the features that you sand around on them are huge in comparison and I surely can't use a sanding block. My patience runs thin with these details... Also, I had originally planned on wrapping them in vinyl which would make the finishing easier, but is it realistic to expect the vinyl to conform to the same areas that I am having a hard time sanding? If so, since my car is black I may try ye olde spray on bedliner and see how she looks first.

The fvck will be shutten up. Are we back to the hummer comments from before?

Congratulations! Your GF will deal, sometimes space helps a relationship more than spending time together can. Especially since you are talking about finishing your coursework in December. It really isn't that far away!!
  11. Well the Excel's are uber sexy looking with that copper phase plug! I will definetely give a subjective review and perhaps quantitative as well as I should have my analyzer back shortly. I made a bit more headway tonight. First layer of bondo on the passenger side and I reconnected the drivers side to the newly shortened footrest. Here are pics. Now I just have to figure out how to sand such small features in the body filler, ergh! Can't really use a wood block... Oh, and one other thought. My sub box build-up was my first glass project, if anyone else is learning I would modify a kick or door panel first. It is so much easier and faster. Of course, the finishing work might be trickier.
  12. I assume then you mean the RF is okay? If so, as soon as I can get my glassing finished in she goes.

bingo Incorrect sir. The only hummer that I know of I can get in any car, just need a woman along with me.

Long is good, nice write-up. Mike is on there reading it now.
  16. One step closer! I should be able to put the final layer of glass on this evening, and if I am lucky the first layer of bondo as well. Here are some updated pics: Pic 1 shows the first test fit of the baffle/kick face in the car. Also you can see the interference that the footrest would cause. Pic 2 shows the shortened footrest Pic 3 shows the shortened footrest in the car (not glassed yet) Pic 4 is the passenger side kick Getting somewhere now!

Time to go and huff some more F'glass--wheee!
  18. Chit, I left the best extra amp off the list. I even found my old birth sheet for it. This is of course what stemmed me to place the post in the first place. I have an old RF Puch 150HD (build date 9-16-1991). Birthed at 190 w/chn 2ohm otherwise rated at 75wx2 4 ohm. Would this sound okay to drive me tweeters? My understanding is that it is of vintage enough to still be a decent piece, but want to make sure before putting it into my car especially since it will be playing from ~2k+. The footprint is the right size too!
  19. Looks great, would love to hear it.

the front stage rebuild...full deadening on both doors, mounting new components, headunit swap...plus a chitload of other things I need done in the coming months... That's all??
  21. Mostly bad picture, there is a good 1/8" around the baffle to align the kick too. Underneath they are pretty roomy, just not a lot of clearance to get the driver mounted. Plus you know me, I had to overbuild the baffle.
  22. There is about a cuft or so in the fender they will be able to breathe into.
